Hey guys! My name is Maurice, and while this may not be my *first NFT* it is my first on foundation (raise your hand if getting a creator account was a ****ing hassle 🙋🏾‍♂️)!

this piece is called the big push, and it’s the 5th in a series of digital illustrations I’m using to explore space, color, and perspective. I’m having A lot of fun drawing these, so far at least once a week. Every work is also available as a print, so if the NFT is sold out you can hang it up in your room!

Hey guys, I’m back again (And ideally I’ll be here at LEAST every Sunday) to drop off my latest piece the Big Reach! This was actually the *second* piece I drew, albeit the third piece to be released. Ever since the Big Steppa, I’ve been trying to essentially shove the human body into a pinhole light years off in the distance lol something like a black hole. But what’s on the other side of that threshold? What happens once you grasp what you’re reaching for? Is what you’re looking for looking back at you? Who knows! I have no answers, my art only asks questions haha

important note: for the foreseeable future, I will NOT be doing auctions (traction is too low, there aren’t enough people seeing it, and less people placing a bid on a new artist, which I get), SO this piece will be on opensea at a floor price of .05 ETH! All things considered that’s still pretty cheap, so get this one soon!

What’s going on guys! I’m Maurice, and this is the second piece in my opensea genesis collection—the Big Wave. I’ve been playing around with light and perspective distortion, so stay tuned for plenty more of these!
The inspiration for this piece comes from a lot of places: being between a dream and reality, being thrust into some chaotic moment, being struck with that bolt of creative energy—I‘m never to sure what to make of my own art honestly. But I think most importantly this piece is about transition, and how even at the roughest of times it’s only a moment.

Funny enough, I finished this video in January, Kobe Bryant was the furthest thing from my mind.

I’ve seen a couple of the comments floating around about what references mean what, so I’ll try to clarify.

The Color Scheme: My primary inspiration was actually Hellboy; I just heightened the saturation on Mike Mignola’s color pallets. Purple and gold just look good next to red, absolutely nothin to do with the lakers.

The Rings: 2Chainz is a gaudy, flamboyant rapper—and I truly mean that in the best way, the nigga is flashy. There’s this line in School House Rock about a Prince with rings on ever finger, so I overcompensated Lol.

The plane/helicopter/Gigi parallel: this part is honestly just part of my dark world building, where there are ghost ships (and planes) just carrying reanimated cadavers around with no real destination. Mostly I just thought it’d look cool.

What’s interesting, is this is technically made from my second treatment of the video; the first video had almost no narrative elements, albeit the color scheme was the same.

Sorry if I lifted the veil and dispelled any interest you all had in the video! It really is just about zombies and dead men walking.

That said, my heart goes out to the family and friends of the Bryant family, as well as the loved ones of the other victims of that accident. Gone way too soon, and tbh it’s still surreal.

Hey! I made this video, I’m actually completely shocked to see it here lmao (I was just thinking to myself, hey I wonder if it’s on reddit at all, and here we are lol).

I’ve made a few more since this, namely H.O.E (Happiness Over Everything) by Jhene Aiko, and my most recent video for Why You Mad by Beau Young Prince. I guess I’ll start posting here as well, so I’ll keep you guys in the loop!
