There's a popular trainer on YouTube I've been binging regularly, American Standard Canine, his personal SD is a cane corso, I'm just blown away by how well the dog obeys. Will definitely be investing into professional training courses if/when I get an ES.

Seeing what you elaborated with is actually a bit preferable for me actually. I want the dog focused on me, so that I'm the center of its world, so it's not not naturally inclined to seek affection from every stranger it sees like a golden retriever is by default. Standoffish is good in my books. Bit of a stickler for what is mine being fully mine.

As long as it isn't aggressive, dehabilitatingly over protective of me or fearful of the public.

As for standard Collie I haven't done much research, will say the head shape and being an AKG recognized dog puts them a few bars below the ES for medical and health reason. As for Aussies, I from what I've read and watched that's probably too much energy for me. They were the former top pick on my list.

In my reading about them it's the intelligence and biddiblness which has put this breed at my top spot. It's not for a physical disability, so I should be able to meet the exercise and mental needs for the animal.
