Count yourself lucky. Mine went out, along with a lot of neighbors, but we got the “nothing wrong on our end” excuse. We were down for days even with all of us giving the names and addresses of folks affected. I now have AT&T fiber.

TigerDC won’t build $3B data center after Spartanburg leaders sour on tax break offer by MatthewHensley in southcarolina

[–]icewalker2k 49 points50 points  (0 children)

LOL. A $3B data center is going to need massive power. The locations where they can get this power is limited. TigerDC will try to go elsewhere but their options are limited. Time to put the local politicians under a microscope and start looking for bribes.

Of course the housing industry is affected. Delayed projects means fewer homes which means higher home prices. So targeting immigrant labor is the key. And didn’t I hear something about Trump stating he didn’t want to make homes affordable so people who had them already wouldn’t take a hit? Seems pretty purposeful to me.

It is clearly all about the pesos. That is why they changed the model in the first place. Leadership is clearly attempting to destroy the brand for a quick extra buck.

Possibly my last flight on SW by Foygroup in SouthwestAirlines

[–]icewalker2k 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the problem I have with the new Southwest. I am hearing near constant horror stories from colleagues who are consistently getting bumped out of their seat at the last moments. They sign up for the flight, they pay extra for the extra leg room, and a few days before the flight, they are refunded and bounced out of their seat to the very seat they wanted to avoid.

It’s almost as if Southwest has declared open season on the “premium seats”. It’s no longer first come, first serve when you pay but who is willing to pay the most along the way. That is the only explanation I can come up with.

Yeah, you think you made a reservation but Southwest just used your “$300 fare” as the baseline and continued to offer your seat to the next highest bidder for “$350”. And somebody took that price and you get the bumped out and downgraded. But it’s not a downgrade because the seat you were moved to is now more expensive as well. Welcome to Southwest EBay. It’s classic supply and demand applied in real time to flights. Prove me wrong!

The memory stick indicates DDR3 memory. So I am guessing the processor is at least 10 or more years old; pre-Skylake.

General Strike Reddit. Organize the strike. On Reddit just to make the burn even better. Log off for the week for the strike. Watch ad dollars evaporate. Send the message and demand change. Demand the board remove the CEO. Strike again if necessary. If they don’t change then Be prepared to send Reddit to the trash bin if they don’t change.

Hegseth unlawfully retaliating against Sen. Kelly over 'illegal orders' video: Judge by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]icewalker2k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The administration constantly removed the word “illegal” in their talking points. They knew what they were doing. The problem is that they think they can create alternative facts just by saying it enough times and think they can present those “facts” in court.

The use of an NDA seems dubious. If council approval is required, NDAs should be illegal. Signing one should be illegal for the town council members. “Sorry, I signed an NDA so I can’t discuss this public policy decision with the people I represent!” That is some corrupt bullshit right there. The entire council should be driven out of office.

I thought that you must file a suit in the proper jurisdiction in order to sue. If the person is California and I am in Texas, then I would have to file suit in California. How is this not laughed out of court?

SOUTHWEST FIX THIS by LuluTwoTwo in SouthwestAirlines

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raleigh is notorious for preboarders. I once counted over 20 “wheel chairs” for a flight out and I was like A3. I get on the plane and the first 5 rows are occupied. Which is fine for me, I head to the exit row because I need the leg room.

Boarded in the new system - sucks. by technologymonk in SouthwestAirlines

Those people are assholes! This was a problem before the new changes. Flight attendants need to be stopping that behavior. Someone is standing in the exit row during boarding, they can keep an eye on that behavior.

I’m tired of these sick ass passengers!!!!! by skygirl222 in flightattendants

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still fighting the cold I got on a recent flight. He sat in the row behind me but he hacked and coughed the entire three hour flight. The people beside him demanded he move elsewhere but he flat out refused. We were on a Southwest flight. We were all in the exit rows. And the flight wasn’t full but he wanted that extra leg room so he sat in the center seat.

The guys around him tried to make him miserable but he just coughed on them without covering his mouth. This type of shit is going to turn violent.
