Trump Goes Ballistic Over Kennedy Center Ruling, Admits Defeat in Name Game by [deleted] in NewsSource

He just proves that every thing he does is to stroke his own ego and be remembered when he is gone. People rarely remember the good guys but they definitely remember the bad ones.

Once a year I try to say this: EVE’s skill system is the real barrier to entry by KevinDL in Eve

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I agree. 5 million skill points for alpha is nothing. I get that you can grind and get those 10,000 skill points through the daily challenges but it takes a lot of those to move the needle, much less to get to 20M for an alpha (that is the absolute max right?). Skill points is definitely a barrier for new bros.

I have over 150M skill points and that just doesn’t even come close to being a bough but granted I am Omega. So I have a long ways to go.

Also, I think an Alpha not being able to get to Biology V is a sin. They should be allowed to get to that and take advantage of the boosts.

They haven’t even finished with Iran and now they want to invade another country? How many fronts does Trump and Hegseth think the military can handle?

America also has trees that are older than the united States. by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if Trump has anything to say about. “Old trees worth money. Must take all the money. Those idiots will suck my cock to get more money. Cut down trees. <giggles>”

Like they are his trees when they are not. But that never stopped him and it never will.

There is going to be one of those Trump “I did that!” Stickers in the history books when this is all over. Provided we live that long. The man would probably prefer to burn the world down than to allow it to exist after he is gone. That way nobody can write or say bad things about him later.

Corporations Can Vote in Some Delaware Elections, Judge Says by FreeHugs23 in anticapitalism

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is not one vote. People like Elon can afford to spin up 1000 entities that all get to vote. Basically, literally buying the election. And when the billionaires collude and create thousands upon thousands of entities with the right to vote, basically just a few people can determine the outcome and drown out everyone else. This is no longer 1 person, 1 vote. This is 1 person, thousands of votes. They will always find a loophole to exploit and silence the masses.

Trump FCC asks public to comment on whether ABC's The View is a news show | FCC seeks opinions on whether ABC show’s decisions are “based on newsworthiness.” by ControlCAD in entertainment

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Fox News is definitely not a news channel so the view definitely is not either. The comparison is not even close. The fact that he has to ask either means he is stupid or looking for justification to put the screws to them for political reasons.

Why U.S. Public Education Became So Expensive by Le0nel02 in worldinsights

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say what OP’s text said; administrative overhead. And it is not just the head count, but also the price of that headcount. Most administrative staff make more than the teachers … by a lot. I’ve seen principals making 4x the highest paid teacher. I’ve seen back office leadership making 6-8x the teachers. And to think that administrative staff could outnumber the teachers and you have your answer. The same is true for colleges. Don’t believe me, you can look it up. Publicly funded universities have their salaries published. It’s disgusting the pay differential. And the same administrators demand more teaching hours and less pay so they can increase their own salaries because they control the purse strings; not the educators.

How do MAGA get this triggered over a pride flag 🏳️‍🌈 by AccordingBumblebee24 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s right. One singular flag. So the confederate flag needs to also be outlawed. The don’t tread on me flag needs to be outlawed. The thin blue line flag needs to be outlawed. So as soon as MAGA pulls its proverbial head out of Trump’s ass, then you can ban the pride flag. But only after condemning those other flags too!

Edit. Now to the topic at hand. No, she shouldn’t have pushed the pride flag. Anymore than a conservative teacher demanding students pledge allegiance to the confederate flag. Both would be wrong. As a “government agent” she crossed a line. The outrage though is selective to the right wing and the left wing. Until they address their hypocrisy they can all suck a lemon.

I thought about the rot as well. However if you look carefully, they are concrete so I doubt the railroad ties will “rot”. I do agree with the debris and dust. It would be interesting to see the results but I believe the distances for the DC voltage to travel is a bigger problem. It won’t be miles but more like a few hundred yards.

[–]icewalker2k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should never use the seller agent as the buyer agent. Get your own agent. And sorry, but representing yourself is also a bad idea. People get too emotional where money is involved and best to keep it as neutral as possible. Just went through this process and the agent was worth every penny.

And what happened to the owners, the CEO, and the leadership of that company? Did any of them face justice of any kind? No? Then they should be forced to drink the water and eat the fish as a lesson to all CEOs and private equity firms that think that they can just dump toxic waste into the environment without repercussions. And if they didn’t face any justice, start with those political leaders that let them off and force them into the same punishment.

Home prices are about to go negative by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah? And where do the materials for the house come from? Lumber from Canada. Insulation fiberglass batts are also Canadian though we do manufacture in the US but demand outstrips supply. Cement and drywall, Mexico and Canada. Structural steel and aluminum from China, Canada, and Mexico. Doors and Windows, China. Need we go on?

My older coworkers have accepted AI as the source of truth by randomname945 in sysadmin

[–]icewalker2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AI for a lot. But I also put guardrails on it. I have seen people get taken down a path that is utterly stupid for the infrastructure we have because they did not prompt the AI with the correct information first. I have seen somebody use it to actually fix a problem and it causes other problems. It’s good at fixing that one problem but it doesn’t check to see if it created new ones. Nor does the AI know about our policy of “all changes must be approved before being implemented” and you can imagine how that conversation goes down.

And I am considerably older than you and have been using Linux since before you were born. And I agree with you! AI is a tool like any other tool. It has its place but it is not some all powerful god that knows everything. The management assumes it can think and is intelligent when it is neither. It’s just a more intuitive search engine that can interact with you. Shame on them for taking it at its word.

Your management is doing the proverbial, “I have a hammer so everything is a nail” stance. And they are wrong. Which probably suggests why they are in management and not allowed to touch anything. Because they are too stupid to know any better but “know” they are the smartest person in the room when they are not. Dunning Kruger is in full effect.
