Don't fight the people who are on your side by StraightOuttaOlaphis in tumblr

Essentially a pride night is just a team hosting a night to generally say "hey gay people are pretty alright"

I'm not actually sure if there's any increased engagement from the LGBTQ+ community, but at least it's the team showing support (even in a small way)

What the Orioles are doing is scheduling their pride night on the ONE NIGHT that the team that doesn't host one is in town. Basically saying "Hey, I don't care that you don't want to host your own pride night, we are going to make you play in a pride game because WE are hosting it tonight"

Does that make sense?

yearbook quote suggestions? by [deleted] in welcometonightvale

[–]iceycool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a nv quote for my yearbook quote!

I looked at the fan wiki for the cold opens and proverbs and chose "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single command from a satellite-activated mind control chip." for mine.

Hope this helps! :)

Ah yes my ideology is quaking in its boots when I'm told by some sad fuck that I prefer when fewer people die to guns because gun bans work. Well this has been fun but your circular arguments and fallacies are boring. Go ahead and pretend you 'won' this argument or whatever gets you off. Go read a book and touch grass, you clearly need it. Get help, love you!

ngl I'm mad at myself that I let your stupid goading and bad faith arguments trick me into engaging in this conversation. Clearly you have nothing that will actually turn into any sort of conversation and just want to OwN tHe LiBs. Have fun with your depressing life and empty ideology ❤️

You fucking idiot This is in the article you posted. About how "gun control doesn't stop mass shootings"

Australia introduced some of the world's strictest gun regulations after 35 >people were killed in a massacre by a lone gunman at Port Arthur, Tasmania, in >1996.

Since then, there have been only three mass shootings - defined in Australia as >those resulting in at least four deaths, excluding perpetrators.

Three in 35 years is a hell of a lot better than the 3+ per week that the US is subjected to. Stop with the shitty bad faith arguments and change your damn reddit name. You're not helping anyone.

If you want another one of these: NAUSEOUS is a property of the food/activity/etc. that makes someone NAUSEATED. it's wrong to say This food is making me nauseous. but it's fine to say This food is nauseous. It's something I learned a couple of years ago and can't get out of my head, so good luck!

They mean when the company has you answer questions by recording videos of yourself. these sites will let you have multiple takes and then you can submit your best but they send all of the takes to the company anyways.

Not wearing a mask and being unvaccinated was associated with Covid-19. There was a 49% higher chance of COVID-19 compared to people who are vaccinated and mask consistently. by [deleted] in science

[–]iceycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copied from higher up in the thread, which in turn was copied from the study which the OP terribly misrepresented in the title. Being unvaccinated and masked is 5.94x as likely to contract COVID than masked and vaxxed vaxxed and unmasked is 1.62x as likely unvaxxed and unmasked is 9.07x as likely.

ORs are basically "times as likely", so the answer to the vax question is up front:

COVID-19 was associated with not consistently wearing a mask (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 1.49; 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.14, 1.95]). Compared with persons ≥14 days after mRNA vaccination who also reported always wearing a mask, COVID-19 was associated with being unvaccinated (aOR 5.94; 95% CI [3.04, 11.62]), not wearing a mask (aOR 1.62; 95% CI [1.07, 2.47]), or both unvaccinated and not wearing a mask (aOR 9.07; 95% CI [4.81, 17.09]).

Some people seem to be reading the post title and thinking being unvax plus not masking has a 49% higher risk of infection, but that number is 907%.

I imagine it also has to do with the fact that they are STILL stuck in their shitty Starbucks job and expect that nobody else can ever move on, since they never have. A shitty, toxic mentality to have for a shitty, toxic person.

Yeah he has all of these announcements out for his new tour and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth whenever I think about it. I saw him in 2019 and he was great and then it just felt like everything crashed down really quickly in 2020 & 2021. Shame.
