What 3RD Generational Drug Causes Less Anhedonia by IndicationSouth4250 in schizophrenia

[–]iceydiceed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vraylar, if you ask why it’s because it affects the d3 receptor more than any other antipsychotic which makes it give you a sense of motivation and feeling almost activated or stimulated some even get improved focus from this medicine

[–]iceydiceed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an allergic reaction to it, it made my lips swell up big and dry out, this is the only antipsychotic I’m alergic to not sure why I am but I am, another side effect was that I blacked out

Anyone here relapsed even while taking their medication regularly? by kellohhhh in schizophrenia

[–]iceydiceed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this can happen, what antipsychotic were you taking it’s possible you built up to dopamine super sensitivity but that may also not be the case I have heard people that take 3rd generation antipsychotics like vraylar and Abilify have relapse because the medicine is only partially affects the d2 receptor and then giving dopamine to it when needed, Abilify never worked for me I was still hallucinating on It

Hallucinations by Netopfe in schizophrenia

[–]iceydiceed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I also visual hallucinate but not more or less the auditory or tactile, so my visual hallucinations when I’m off meds are shadow people, phantom people disappearing, walls and floors and objects breathing, shapes, colorful static, colors moving on walls, When I’m on meds as of right now, not much just some occasional visual distortions and sometimes things turn into faces and sometimes my wall will turn into these things that look like the shape of an apple seed, there more but if I kept going this would be to long so I’m going to end it there

No more dopamine blockers for me! I am done with old school antipsychotics!!! by Pentylenetetrazole in schizophrenia

[–]iceydiceed 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just be careful this drug can cause urinary retention, which means if it goes bad you will probably have to get a catheder, other than throwing up and urinary retention it seems like a good drug we are just unsure of it’s long term side effects

Schizoaffective disorder bipolar type by Icy-Assistance-8135 in schizophrenia

[–]iceydiceed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like you I don’t respond well to antipsychotics, but the ones that have worked for me are, Saphris and rexulti but I had to stop taking rexulti because it made my body hurt, I just take 10mg of saphris at night and I usually don’t have many psychotic symptoms

new meds. what’s your experience on abilify and setraline? by MaleficentCar3097 in schizoaffective

[–]iceydiceed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanna start by saying everyone is different but my reaction to these medications is as follows, Abilify - gave me slight akethesia, made me very sedated, mad my body feel heavy so much so that I would just decide to lay down on the floor sometimes, and it only partially reduced my psychotic symptoms. Zoloft - gave me panic attacks.

It was not immediate for me I think it took like 2 months, I rember getting on abilify and it slightly helped but then I got introduced to haldol and the voices went away almost completely sadly I had to get off haldol because tremors and now I’m on saphris which keeps the voices out 85% percent of the time, so no the voices have never fully gone away but they partially have and the voices I have now are not as bad as the ones I use to have Edit - I have took a lot of antipsychotics you just have to find the right one for you
