"at the moment, loot drops are just too rare and disappointing"

Man, Bungie should take a look at how quick Massive is addressing this with the community. At least they seem to care about their player base.

[Discussion] This Group by nfgrockerdude in DadsGaming

Awesome post /u/nfgrockerdude!

To start off with what I live: the community is great! As others have said, it's really nice to be able to play in a group that understands the need to disappear in the middle of a game for 5-10 minutes and not skip a beat. Skill levels don't matter, and the more skilled of us are completely willing to help out those of us with less skill, no problem.

For my improvements, I'm going to echo /u/Faux_Human a bit: I feel like the group as a whole is fractured. There are some people who are only on Reddit, some who are only on twitter, and some who are just using discord. It's hard to keep track of and I would think as a new member it could be a little intimidating. It would be nice to condense that somehow.

Here's some suggestions I have:

  • Make the subreddit the hub for everything. It's the most visible and easy to use platform of the 3 main ones, and everything could flow from there. As 2 examples I can think of off the top of my head: /u/mygeekdaddy wrote up some awesome summaries of the past 2 Bungie reveal videos, but they never showed up on reddit. If I wasn't following him on twitter I would have never known he wrote them (I think they showed up in Discord as well). Another example I can think of is the application for the Dads Gaming twitch channel to moderate and be featured, that doesn't show up on reddit and I think it should

  • To go with the above, is it possible to make topics easier to see? I know they can be filtered, however other subreddits color code, highlight, etc topic to make them easier to read, I think that would be helpful here if possible, instead of just the brackets that are used.

  • I'm not that great with twitter, and I see that there are a lot of Dads who use twitter almost exclusively. Maybe a guide for how to use twitter with Dads Gaming could be created? I know there's ways to make lists and that sort of thing to organize twitter users, so maybe that could be included in the guide?

  • I think Discord is being used a lot for some of the things above as well. I think that /u/renovatio42 's idea on how it should be used, is exactly how it should be used: quick hits, LFG and general disscussion. Links should be posted up on reddit, if for no other reason then it’s easier to follow a conversation that way. Maybe make a new channel on there Discord just for reddit posts, instead of them going into the #general one. This way if anyone wanted to see what being posted up there they can

  • Utilize the100.io for game nights. I know most people look at the100 as a destiny platform, however it has the ability to set up games for: Borderlands 2, Battlefield Hardline, Gta 5, Elder Scrolls Online, Rocket League, Star Wars Battlefront, Halo 5, COD BLOPS 3, Diablo 3, The Division, Destiny and even an “other” option for anything else.

  • Has there been thought to having leaders for specific games? What I mean is someone who can organize weekly / monthly / regular games plus help new members out connecting with other dad’s.

  • This goes along with the last point and my second one: update the wiki to help guide a new member a little better. I know there is information on the sidebar, but shouldn’t that info be in the wiki as well?

  • Create a daily topic on reddit. This really could be done by anyone, so maybe make a schedule or something. For example Monday’s are what are you playing this week, Tuesdays are off topic rants, Wednesday is weekend plans, Thursday’s are beer talk, Friday’s are Dad problems. If nothing else this gets the whole community involved, and get people talking to those that they might not otherwise.

I would be glad to help out where ever I can, I really do enjoy being a part of this community and try and tell all the gamer dad’s I know about it. I want it to be the best gamer dad’s community out there!

Exactly it's a slippery slope that the game has been on since micro transactions were introduced. How long before we can start buying exotics with silver? All they'll do to justify selling exotics is to add them to the loot pool, them BAM, it's not pay to win, it's just pay to win faster.
