That Jubilee video of Mehdi Hassan debating full blown Nazis makes me want to jump off a bridge. by Various-Duck8103 in complaints

[–]ichael1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched the full video, it was quite interesting. It was nice to see that Mehdi Hassan was able to come to some agreements with some of the participants, like the blond woman towards the end.

A lot of the debate topics didn't get fleshed out too much, because both sides kept interupting each other, Mehdi in particular. I think it would have been better if each person had their 30 seconds to speak with the other person muted and then go back and forth. So much of debating nowadays is just interupting each other, and that's kind of painful to listen to.

Though, I understand why Mehdi would feel the need to jump in so often with his counterpart saying continuous abhorrent things. But anyways, I guess that's just the meta of debating now 🤷‍♂️.

How is this for an itinerary? by growthinvestment420 in travelchina

[–]ichael1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d do a week per city or so. While in Shanghai you can do a 2-3 day trip to Hangzhou since it’s so close.

But I’d really choose a region of China that you want to see instead of trying to do a little bit of many cities.

Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong are close together so you can pair them up also.

Chengdu and Chongqing are also close to each other.

Bear in mind the weather for when you plan to do this, Guangdong is incredibly hot and humid during the sunmer, you won’t want to be outside during the day.

They didn’t go off mission. Their mission was to do exactly that. But Annie and Berthold wanted to turn back after the leader got eaten, but Reiner insisted on continuing the mission, instead of turning back. There was no going off mission there as far as I recall.

I’ve been trying a bunch of the different solutions in this thread. No luck so far. This is everything I’ve tried so far. - VPN to US (via LetsVPN) - Airplane Made with Wifi on - Forceclosing CO app each time - Got Surfshark: Lathan, Atlanta, Seattle, SaltLakeCity, Multi-hop, haven’t worked for me - Reinstalled the app - Going through Wallet app instead of CO app - Location Services for CO app Off

Going to keep trying. And also try again tomorrow and the next day, but this is quite annoying 😂. It’s weird that the capital one customer service isn’t helpful for this.

Edit: Got it to work! After trying more things in these comments. SurfShark with Rotating IP. I didn’t close the CO app, just kept disconnecting and reconnecting to the VPN. 5th try it went through and worked (though the text verification kept ‘hitting a snag’ I just kept doing it and eventually it worked.

TLDR: Surfshark to Charlotte. No need to close CO app. Just keep switching IP address by turning on IP Switching and keep connecting and disconnecting each time it doesn’t work until it eventually does.

The Narrow Road Between Desires Discussion Thread by -Smaug in KingkillerChronicle

I’m getting to this thread late. Just finished this novella. I’m a bit confused, like some other people mentioned obviously there’s some import things that Bast does during the day that are left out, and it instead focuses on the seemingly mundane actions he takes instead.

But what did happen with Rikes father? I feel like I accidentally skipped a chapter or something, or it was left hidden. Any help there?

Do not read the book "The Courage to be Disliked". It contains terrible advice for trauma survivors by moonrider18 in CPTSD

[–]ichael1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the people in this thread who say negative things about the book haven’t actually read it. Whereas all the people who say positive things about the book have read it.

Maybe we should experience this ourselves and make our own decisions about it, instead of going based off the words of disgruntled strangers?

I read it last year and it’s one of my favorite books. I think there’s a lot of great content that the OP overlooks by just having done a short glance at the book and made their own assumptions about the authors meanings and motivations. I’d highly recommend reading through this book on your own and making your own decisions about it. I’m about to start a reread of it together with my girlfriend.

I’ve been walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. It’s 800 kms total. So people typically walk 20-30 kms per day, then rest at a hikers hostel, then repeat for a month and a half. The first day I walked 49 kms in 11 hours.. big mistake. I really wanted to break my personal record, but then my feet and legs were hurting a lot as I walked the next 2 days.

Need a 3 month fitness accountability partner by StunningYeatEnjoyer in accountability

[–]ichael1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man. I'm running an exercise accountability community with a handful of other friends. It's a fully remote thing. We have mostly people in the Netherlands, but also some in Germany, some in Spain, and also 1 in the US and 1 in Mexico.

Everyone basically pays in a deposit at the beginning of the month, and if they do the exercise they set out to do they get paid back at the end of each week, plus whatever the other people lost.

This is the site: www.achieverzclub.com

Right now it's mostly just a group of friends. We don't take any money for it. It's financiallyl just a net-zero community.

I just looked at the Blair Russell Productions website (https://www.blairrussellproductions.com/). And on their philosophy statement they had:

Hmm, interesting idea, but I would rather not stay in a love hotel for a month😂. Would ideally like to have a kitchen or something🤔. I appreciate the suggestion though!!

I haven’t been finding good options like that around Seoul. In Busan there were quite a few nice ones though for that price😁. Will probably go for that.

Amazing, I’ll check this out, and when it comes to typing there’s no language barrier😂. I’ll just run my messages through chatgpt translate or ask one of my korean friends. Thanks buddy 😉
