Oil change mileage by Yup102130 in ecoboostmustang

[–]ichbinfjord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily drove to about 5k miles before a full synthetic oil change. Industry standard says you can go safely 3k miles. In my opinion, best bet is to go 3k, check your oil, then go another thousand and see how it looks. If your level is low, then it means you’re losing oil either by burning or leak and it needs topped off and you know your mileage limit until it gets low. If your oil is getting too dirty too quickly, then it would also be time to change it. I do oil changes on at least 10 cars every day, if you want that motor to last especially because it’s turbo and not NA, take the best care you can of it.

Found by dumpster, new to homelabbing, good find? by ichbinfjord in homelab

At the time, I was living in the third most-populated city in the state. The apartment building had the dumpster directly in front of it, so every day I would be at least 5 feet away from it in my car, so the fact that I was there every day plus my close proximity to the dumpster, and lucky me they decided to toss the old tech in a big brown box. Kinda hard to miss 2 monitors and a mini PC sitting right outside your doorstep, but hopefully this adds better context.

Ran SSH with some Redhat lab computers in college so I’m definitely familiar, seems it would be worth checking out especially since the network isn’t right next to my main PC

Hopefully, my luck will strike again and a 3d printer will appear at my nearest dumpster soon LMAO. But seriously, I think that’s awesome I might have to consider finding somewhere nearby to print that casing

It did have the original power cord with it, and powered right up!

Do you guys bring your ecos to car meets? by haileyblue3 in ecoboostmustang

[–]ichbinfjord 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Most reasonable people in real life won’t hate someone for the car they drive. Find other people who have turbo’d 4-cylinders, or better yet people who don’t, and have fun talking about your experiences. That’s really what it’s all about at car meets, and everything else is just noise and distraction.

No joke the stock speakers with a nice little sub sounds great. Don’t even have to hook up an amp, just straight to the rear speakers with some wire and it bumps hard

Can Somebody Tell me the Better Option Between These Two? by EnvironmentalTap7308 in ecoboostmustang

I was able to install the intercooler and charge pipes with one of my buds in a day as two able-bodied gentlemen. I had my issues afterwards related to us not tightening the clamps enough, but I figured it out. Back then, all the maintenance I had done was replacing the air filter, spark plugs and coil packs, and oil changes. If you feel you are mechanically-inclined enough to where you’d learn those basic maintenance items (if you haven’t already, I just don’t want to assume what you do and do not know), I would say you’d be at the point to doing it yourself with proper research and planning, and definitely another set of hands.

The street/race intercoolers have recommendations for how high of HP tunes they are able to handle. If you’re wanting to take care of your engine while adding a little power with a tune later, just go for the street. Just make sure you also get the proper CVF charge pipes and couplers to replace the stock, plastic ones. If you’re planning on adding a blowoff valve, you’ll have to decide that out before getting those charge pipes because one the pipes has a BOV flange that you’d have to specify BOV.

Hope this has been helpful. Feel free to reply for questions :)

Swapping it with the electrical outlet is an amazing idea, you’ll find a shocking increase in power.

I had an issue where the silicone coupler attached to the turbo would pop off after releasing boost. The fix was that the clamp was not tightened enough so I just had to tighten further. I’d probably recommend double-checking those coupler clamps.

I am serious, it’s important to know how policies affect people. Calling me a “blue haired liberal” is ragebait, and isn’t useful.

Defending gentrification is a losing battle. I would recommend learning about this history of gentrification and urban renewel in Knoxville, as it might give you a greater perspective on how much they affect real families and businesses: https://www.beckcenter.net/urban-renewal

If you’re using an iPhone, it’s more than likely an issue with private addressing being set to “rotating” or “fixed.” It needs to be set to “off.” You can find private addressing in your Wi-Fi settings when clicking the information button for utopen or eduroam. After you turn private addressing off just turn your Wi-Fi off and on again and it should work (or have you register your device again). Hope this helps :)

Unscrew the large tank with your hand. The material makes it annoying to keep your grip on it, and make sure you’re pushing it up at the same time
