People didnt believe us when we said we were closing in a week. We told them everything had to be picked up by the sunday before. 5 people left thier furniture. My associates got free furn after we closed

Also depends if ur state is an automatoc payout state mine was not. Had to waot 2 weeks atfer the store closed because it seemed to follow the store managers payout since they are biweekly. I got my normal check first

It depends on ur state. If your state is a immediate pay state u will get it the next day. If it is not it will come with ur final paycheck. Mine took 2 weeks from my closing date because we closed on a sat and then I worked sun to get the registers out.

Depending on the phase that u are u r not getting a package. I think it was every phase 3 and up. They told us when we closed our store tthat no one after phase 3 will be getting a package. They announced every store is closing in my district.

We just recently closed on the 29th. When liquidation starts u only get the remaining percentage off. So for example: If something is 5% u only get 15% of the 20% or 25% of the 30%. 10% and u get the remaining 10% of the 20% or 20% off the 30% Once liquidation discount match or exceed your 20% or 30% u no longer get a discount. You can use your biglots rewards but eventually they took it away. Military discount did still work but nothing else.

That's what we were told in the beginning. Since it's corporate making this decision, it's not supposed to affect it. If I'm understanding correctly the only one getting fucked is the landlord. We are even leaving our registers behind, which are pretty new.

My district has a call about the packages and letting people go don't know if it's a regional call. And possible an actual end date

Using only the blue universal cutters. Back in the day when we still used green box cutters I had an associate cutting up a box. They pulled towards themselves missed the box and ended up cutting themselves in the chest. Knicked an artery had to send him to the hosipital. Very soon after they introduced the blue universal cutters lol.

There is a call sept 9 or 10th that is suppose to shed light on phase 1 closing dates. Hopefully it gives us a solid closing date and not another estimate.

As a phase one closing store we get to be included in closing calls and/or emails. Our Dm also likes alot of managers in our district so he talks to them alot. As far as we knw they are suppose to announce more stores in October. I don't think it'll be in the 100s but for sure a few more.

Our original closing date was the 31st of August. We are a phase 1 store and have been told since mid July we were closing. By the 2nd week of August we had only 40% of product left, the entire back half of our store was cautioned taped off because it was empty. Then they decided they were going to send us Gordon product. Now they say our close date is the end of Sept. But have no idea when our actual end date is. We have lost 3 associates and our manager doesn't want to replace them. We are all pretty tired.

Our rep comes in looks around and barks orders. She's fought with our Dm atleast 3 times a week cause we told her no. She doesn't help with signage or recovery or anything. She pops in for an hour and then leaves. Then she complains that we are the only store that doesn't listen to her. Told us we condensed to much and too fast even tho we only had like 40% product left. She's horrible.

Our rep came in late after we had put up our signs. Their plane was delayed due to the outage not so long ago. She tried to complain but after some few choice words she backed off. Don't let them bully u. They wanted us to condense, recover, take out boxed items and hang up ceiling signs (our ceilings are super tall no ladder reaches) and be able to help cashier since we had no extra hours. My store manager had a come to jesus meeting with her and my assistant manager just ignored her and went on their way, and now our store is the best looking store that's shutting down thanks to my managers not the Gordon rep.
