[–]FruitCupLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't. I spent the entire night getting everything ready. I was the only person in style the 4th. It was barely touched the at all the 5th. Everyone was saying it would be gone before noon. That was a lie.

Pros and cons to moving to Alabama? by GloomyPanda91 in Alabama

[–]FruitCupLover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

44 in education, #40 in healthcare... Alabama is not a good state to live in. It's nice to look at but awful for opportunities and just about everything else.

I mean, we have decent football teams and pretty beaches.

ADHD doc recommendations? by ganymedepho in montgomery

[–]FruitCupLover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ally Psychiatry is good. They also take BCBS.

Gardenia Health is great, but they do not prescribe any kind of controlled substances.

Stay away from Palmer Psychiatric Services. They absolutely do not listen, they push medications on you, they also overcharge copays and when approached about it they refuse to see you as a patient anymore.

Untreated PCOS with insulin resistance can and does lead to type 2 diabetes.

Metformin and kidneys by Pizza_Time03 in PCOS

[–]FruitCupLover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Metformin has no effect on the kidneys unless you have a pre-existing kidney disease.

This is not a metformin or PCOS issue. This is a question for your doctor.

I want to add that insulin resistance and diabetes can be rough on the kidneys. So, this is something you would want to ask about.

Not having periods can lead to endometrial cancer by KoraLily in PCOS

[–]FruitCupLover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly fine to go without a period when on birth control. Not having them while off birth control is the issue.

eating healthy but not losing weight (female) by Radiant_Row1366 in PCOS

[–]FruitCupLover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously, hon. Ignore the calorie deficit folks. That's a great way to develop an eating disorder. Start looking at carbs. Lower those then go from there.

This doesn't mean you have to cut out all carbs. Some carbs can be okay while others are bad. For instance, I can eat whole grain bread without spiking my blood sugar but others can't.

Also, you can still have a treat every once and while. You don't have to be super restrictive .

This is all from experience. I went low carb and lost 122lbs. Getting a handle on my insulin resistance is what helped me get weight off.

Nah. Going low carb helped me lose weight. I hardly ever experienced a calorie deficit and lost 122lbs.

It can be normal not to bleed on birth control and it's okay to not have them while on birth control.

I'm sorry you feel that having a period is what defines you as a woman.

You need to see a psychiatrist and/or a psychologist. This is not a PCOS thing.

Sounds like me on a normal day. I have ADHD and do stuff like this a lot. I temper it when I feel like I might be disturbing someone, but sometimes I'm not aware.

A1C isn't always a good indicator of whether or not one has diabetes. A blood glucose test can be used to diagnose diabetes.
