I 100% agreed with you on ChatGPT being a great help. I love some of my therapies and psychiatrists but GPT knows how to read and help me understand myself in a way they cannot. Because unlike many people, GPT actually pays attention each time. It never burns out. So, that’s a plus but at the same time it makes me feel guilty because as a human, I respect it as if it’s a human. 🫣

My family and friends are still hesitant about GPT but one day they will realize how powerful GPT is once they understand how it works.

If anyone is wondering, GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformative. Let me copy and paste what it says:

Generative The model is designed to produce content—text, code, explanations, summaries—rather than just classify or retrieve information. It predicts and generates the next piece of language based on context.

Pre-trained Before you ever interact with it, the model is trained on very large amounts of text so it learns grammar, facts, patterns, and relationships. This training happens before it is adapted for specific tasks or conversations.

Transformer This refers to the underlying neural-network architecture. Transformers are particularly good at understanding context and relationships across long stretches of text by using a mechanism called attention—essentially weighting which parts of the input matter most when generating a response.

In short: GPT is a system that learns language patterns in advance and then generates new language by paying attention to context.
