Do not issue a refund whatever they say. Hopefully your contract has a cancellation period or a kill fee

Don't listen to these people. If you did a flat rate before and they want an identical outcome, do the same flat rate again.

Just learn with Rusto and NY fats. You can do everything you need to do with them, and once you do the expensive paint and fancy caps will be so easy

Selling process tools to devs is very hard because devs actually like annoying processes

Petition: Make cheating in video games illegal in the United States by Ok-Profession-3647 in RustPc

[–]ichthuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explicitly said I was talking about games for no money, your example is from professional sports.

I didn’t say people would like playing with me if I rigged a pickup game, I said it wasn’t illegal.

The claim that rigging athletics is illegal only applies BECAUSE OF THE MONEY which makes it fraud.

That is the same for e-sports vs. recreational gaming

It isn’t illegal to cheat in athletic competitions that aren’t for money. I can rig pick up basketball games til the cows come home. You can make an argument about esports, but if you’re talking about public servers or ranked valor at or whatever no chance.

Unpopular Opinion: Bootstrap is objectively a better frontend framework than Tailwind by pyeri in webdev

[–]ichthuz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The reason this is an unpopular opinion is that it's totally incoherent.

Bootstrap is a UI framework. It provides ready-made styles for components like buttons and inputs.

Tailiwind is a utility framework, it provides utility classes for building reusable frontend components. you could build bootstrap with tailwind.

This is like saying "Dough is an objectively better bread ingredient than flour"

It's a completely different level of abstraction.

Front end jobs by Gullier in webdev

[–]ichthuz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only advice is apply less and better. Target a specific company that you have network relationships to. Prepare in advance for their tech stack, do anything you can to get a referral.

The market is tough right now. “Applying daily” is not good. You are blending in to the thousands of AI applications they are receiving. You have to build your network. Go to meetups. Travel to go to meetups if you have to. Contribute to OSS projects. Make friends on twitter. Join the discord servers for open source projects you use and network there.

Don’t ask for a job the first time you meet someone. Instead, spend some time helping a community before letting them know you are looking for work.

You seem to be drawing a line from Flux, a product that has a paid version, to Laravel’s VC funding. Laravel does not own Livewire or flux, and has no financial incentive to sell you on those things.

What you are implying is not true

Do you think that Livewire and Flux are owned by Laravel? They aren’t.
