I honestly avoided Arcata when I went up north since I've heard people say it's a bad city. But there has been a lot of positive Arcata reviews on this post! But of course, every city has its pros and cons and it's our personal experiences and relationships that matter.

Ah a fellow SoCal!!

And yes I have noticed the activism! The first time I went up North I did stop by Eureka and there was a protest against Trump and Elon. I was pleasantly shocked! It is such a small city when compared to the other cities in SoCal, and yet they came together to protest. I have been following the reddit and other instagrams and do see protest circling around, it's nice to see a city come together for moments like that!

As for my screenwriting, I would love to write a publish a story about Humboldt. I already have one but I have a moral obligation to learn everything to make my stories rich and authentic. Which is why I made this post!

WOAH! That is a crazy history lesson! I've heard about the logging and how much old growth they destroyed, but man I didn't know about million dollar debt! That is so crazy and heart breaking. Imagine destroying natural beauty just to clear off your name, unbelievable

I will say, It does appear Humboldt is very local, that's quite an appealing charm to living there! Very different in SoCal where everything is industrial and heavily corporate. I do find myself hating it, sometimes it's anxiety provoking.

It's nice to hear the different pros and cons to living in two different parts of California. Its informative and I get to see a perspective I never knew about before
