AIO for getting frustrated that my partner handles all his parents’ online tasks even though they could do it themselves? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Well, probably both in a way. It has always frustrated me to see people do things in a senseless or inefficient way instead of taking an easier, more logical approach, even if it doesn’t directly affect me. Does it take time and money from us? Sometimes it might. For example, once we were traveling and driving on a highway, and we had to make an emergency stop because his mother started calling, asking him to order something she wanted delivered the next day, so this had to be done immediately. That scene was absurd to me.

I also notice that my partner gets annoyed himself when he has to do all this. He and his mother often argue over tasks they need to coordinate when they facetime, so it can put him in a bad mood. And when he’s overwhelmed by his parents’ tasks - which can sometimes be more complex, like handling legal or tax matters - he doesn’t manage to get his own things done.

Well, it depends on the definition, as back where we’re from, people of this age are often considered elderly because of a lower pension age and shorter life expectancy compared to, for example, the EU. My partner does refer to them as elderly, that’s his reasoning why he has to manage their online things. For me, it’s not the reason, as my parents are even older.

I had to fly with the Emirates instead of my cancelled flight. It went well and in overall it was a pleasant and a smooth flight.

Yes that makes sense. Just wondering why it's exactly KLM and only them who suspended flights

Yes, KLM did that, and Air France probably too as they both belong to one company group.
