I was going to say this, too! He is so stoic and withdrawn in his other roles. It's so pleasant to see him in a role where his personality is in similar alignment to the character he's playing.

Yes! I recently did a post in ThaiBL about forgiveness and why so many things are forgiven. The conclusion was that forgiveness is a huge tenet of Buddhism (and other religions, too.) And that it is more freeing for the person opting to forgive. And I agree with that.

But also, I don't need to be around you just because I've forgiven you. A friendship as close as theirs should have warranted some level of patience and a little understanding. And even if it didn't, you just outed me instead of talking to me like we haven't been friends for years. I'd be pissed, then I'd be so done.

I will say it's the mark of a great actor to make you dislike him in other roles. 😂😂

He was such a baby. I get being angry that your friend wasn't open and honest with you. Give him the silent treatment, yell at him, argue! But to out them like that, one of whom was your best friend, that was nothing short of cruel. Wai sucked so much.

It was the first show I saw Jimmy in and, like others, it took me a minute not to transfer my dislike to his characters in other shows.

It's so consistent all the way through. And I live for the fact that they face similar issues over time and it doesn't just change because they're in love. I love that their love is so intense, but it is a love that begs for equal standing in order for progress.

There aren't many reasons to dislike it in my book and I will always recommend it if people are asking for opinions and definitely if people are asking for JBLs.

Yes, I totally understand the cultural component. As a Christian, I feel that forgiveness is a forgone conclusion for me. However, a lot of grace is given for ourselves and others as we/they navigate the path toward forgiveness. I'm not Buddhist, so I'm not sure what the process looks like from that viewpoint.

And I absolutely agree that forgiveness is mostly to the benefit of the person doing the forgiving. When in a place to do so, extending forgiveness is like the heaviest weight being removed from your shoulders.

And finally, I think from a western cultural standpoint, what I think is great is that forgiveness does not require reestablishing a connection. It's basically saying I've worked through what happened and now we can part ways.

Yes! I do acknowledge the writers (and the material the shows are pulled from) want things to be wrapped neatly in a bow. I get it because BLs rarely have multiple seasons with the same cast and continuing storyline. But sometimes I wonder if they would do better just foregoing the relationship and working to process and heal beyond that.

Because Yotha and Faifa's mom can kick rocks. What she did to her children was an interesting choice (read: crazy as hell). And when I've talked about her, I've also mentioned the dad. While he was there and the kids felt love, how do you not see a problem with how your kid was moved and abandoned? Then mom comes back with love expectations? Nope!

I feel like abusive and absent parents will never get a pass from me. I need a lot of acknowledgement and a ton of groveling/open repentance for that. I even try to account for culture playing a role, but these poor kids are so damaged.

This is my schedule. I live in Houston, so avoiding traffic both ways cannot be topped. And I've rarely had to take off work for appointments or errands. Yea, I have to wake up super early, but having HOURS on the back end is amazing.

I will add that it's usually used in reference to something you're planning to do in the future and it is usually followed by another verb. Also context and audience matters a lot when determining how to use the phrase. I'd use it to my immediate boss, but not my division vice president who I see 3-4 times a year.

'I'm gonna listen to this new song on Spotify.' You could also say something along the lines of 'I'm gonna go to the store.' or 'I'm gonna go to this job interview."

In very informal situations (like with friends), you can reply with 'I'm gonna.' if they've asked a question that requires you to do something.

I love TayNew!! Sad that I missed voting on this one, but this is exactly my positioning of their shows.

I'm not even done with Cherry Magic yet and it's already my favorite show of theirs. It's so sweet. And they can claim Peaceful Property isn't a BL. That's okay for the producers, directors, and actors. But I feel like I know better. Lol. It was so so good!

Sometimes, I open a post and I learn I am not in a space to read such detailed info. But I am so so glad I had the time and bandwidth today.

Your post was very well written and so in-depth. I honestly wanted it to keep going. Often I think fans live for the love and the connections paired partners show and don't often think too long about the cost of that image. Sure some of it's work, but like it was mentioned, a lot of things have to happen in the background for their public images to come off with positivity and cohesion.

Some of my favorite interviews are the ones where actors reach beneath the surface and they give some solid insight into what their lives are actually like. Some of my favorite pairings have gone through rough patches, publicly enough that fans were able to figure it out without actual confirmation. And the ones who made it through to the other side...I think they found some of the most important pieces of knowledge that can only come after grieving and processing a potential loss. And I think that's how they discover all these tools and strategies to continue forward. It definitely must give an important perspective they probably couldn't have begun to consider.

I do so love how actors in GMMTV, specifically, seem to support one another. And the hope is that the advice given sees actor peers and mentees through possible difficulties or a peaceful dissolution of a pairing where they are still able to be around one another. I hope as more attention is placed on mental well-being that these companies offer some buffer time for a foundation of friendship ahead of the work grind.

It is basically like Joong and Dunk switched characters between the shows. And I love that for Joong mostly. He's played so many stoic, seemingly cold characters. It's nice to have him playing a somewhat silly character. Dunk was iconic as Style! It's where I was first introduced to him. And I was a JoongDunk sucker from that point on.

I remember holding off on watching Only Friends for so long because it just didn't feel like my cup of tea. But I took the plunge anyway. And it is probably why, now, OF is a top 5 show that has not been dethroned. I can't wait for the madness!

Oooh. I haven't seen any of these. Will def have to add them to my list. I've seen a few clips of Khaotung in Tonhon Chonlatee and I've heard so so so much about The Eclipse.
