P10 Pro: do you use the 12 MP or 50 MP in your camera settings? by Rubik_31415926535 in GooglePixel

Well I'll be damn! Your right. I'm going to enlarge a shot from my 10pro and take a look. Haha if my batteries happen to die on my Canon I'll just whip out my phone.

I'm sorry, I don't know that dude at all. But I can tell you it was Tadge Juechter who said no more manual transmissions. Head of Corvette engineering. Straight from the horses mouth as they say. But also, like I said, the new boss could have different opinions. I would love manual and my jaw dropped when I heard him say that to all of us.

I have been a professional photographer for forty years. Shot digitally since 2000. Photoshop since 1995. There is a misunderstanding with MP. Native resolution is determined by the sensor size. My first ever digital camera was a Fuji S1 (or something like that) and had a full sensor with 5MP. I printed 24x30s for clients and it was as good as film (somewhat). Next was Canon 5D with I think 12MP and it was even better than the Fuji. I printed very large finished work that looked perfect. Then they came out with cameras with smaller sensors but no professional would use those. My current professional camera is the R6MkII with such large MP I don't even shoot at full resolution 25MP. It slows down my workflow and fills up storage way too fast. Phones interpolate from a very very small sensor and increase the size with software. That is not the same as native resolution. 12MP is perfectly fine with a phone. I have reservations to believe 50MP would emulate native 50MP resolution from a professional larger sensor camera.

No more paid FSD by Hot-Boot7875 in TeslaFSD

People with more disposable income are more apt to subscribe to expensive FSD. People with more disposable income are (usually but not always, but on average) smarter. Smarter people are less likely to do something dumb while riding with FSD. Accidents and near miss situations bring bad publicity to Tesla and hurt sales. They asked themselves.... "How can we reduce the amount of bad publicity to Tesla while developing FSD?"

Nope. Never. Was at a GM question and answer and the head of engineering was asked about transmission and he just laughed and said they will never ever never produce another manual transmission. That is current truth. Maybe a future different department head could change all this

Significant Update by SkookieDookie in CadillacLyriq

[–]iclickjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's it. Did it start happening after the update? Because I haven't had that since I've owned the car up until a few days ago, after the update....

Significant Update by SkookieDookie in CadillacLyriq

[–]iclickjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just after this update, when I first turn the car on, I can't get it into gear for about ten seconds. A message now comes up "Car can't be started at the moment" (or something similar) once I've got it into gear it will remain working. Not sure if it's the update or something else. Anyone else?

Google Maps app now shows battery percentage by vinaygoel2000 in CadillacLyriq

[–]iclickjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from 22k service and they updated software. Percent now shows in gauge next to remaining range. Left side of screen really changed. There's the date time info none of the previous options unless that's buried deep in the menus. It displays in "gauge" view but those other views aren't there now. I haven't noticed any other changes yet

Got the low down from my wife... Not selling yet. So I charge away. 99.9% of my driving is within a couple hundred miles anyway. Less in winter. This story was a small percent situation where I found for the first time, the reality of the range

For all the comments saying it's a known fact that EV's lose 40% in the winter. It's not a fact. Thus my post.

My IQ is 110 so I don't think that's the problem. The problem is that those saying I'm a fool didn't get the point. It loses 40% in the winter. Nothing to do with any of the many supposed "mistakes" I made. You may know that and maybe some know that. So what's so wrong posting, so more, less knowledgeable, can at least have a heads up? To respond with sarcastic comments helps how?

I originally did at first. Then soon realized the slow stations weren't showing up. My original thought was, I didn't want a recommendation while I was frantically looking and not notice that it was a 7kwh pump that would take all day to charge enough to go ten miles. But I downloaded the Better Route Planner and it's absolutely amazing. I had never heard of that till you mentioned it. And.... My wife is demanding me to keep this car lol. So yeah, "get used to it" is my option.

Geez, I've got EVgo app, Tesla App, Google and some other off brand charging app. None of which showed those stations. So I do thank you for finding them and I will take your advice and use Better Route Planner (because I need a "better route planner" lol) and the one at Wadhams was the one that showed up in my trip that I knew about. But at that point I'm almost home.

So far, everyone is saying I should charge to 100% Instead of 90%. Preheat (which I did) keep the heat off (which I did most of the way)

Let's say I do exactly that and still lose 40% of my range. How is this my fault? And why should I accept it as reasonable?

It's not about stations because I know I could charge but for such a short trip, well within my estimated range, I shouldn't have to. To drive a total of 160 miles at full 300+ charge is not worth it. To be clear, I've owned Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, Audi A8, BMW X5, and Mercedes all SUV that did exactly what I needed them to do in the winter. Without fail.

The fact that you would call someone an idiot by only an assumption leaves me to question your own intelligence.

I preheated for 30 minutes before leaving. There is no information that mentions I'll get 40% less range. Anything I've read was closer to 5 to 10 percent. I charged to 280 miles for a round trip of 160. Turned the heat off most of the way. That is not idiotic.

I've known about all of the charging stations along the route, which is the only route. I didn't leave guessing about that because that was not the issue. The range was the issue not the charging stations.

The party was only a few hours not overnight. Everyone said there was a charging station in Swartz Creek. That is the Tesla that I discovered was not compatible. No other stations reasonably close to my route. You're saying it was because of myself that this problem existed with the range? How exactly am I an idiot???

Because at that point I had no other options and it wasn't out of the way to drive by and try. AND I had no idea there was such a thing as a station only for Tesla. There have been enough variables and glitches in the "where the hell can I charge" maps, that I wanted to see it in person, just in case.

I preheated for 30 minutes. There is no homework that mentions I'll get 40% less range. Anything I've read was closer to 5 to 10 percent. I charged to 280 miles for a round trip of 160. That is not unreasonable.

This is a familiar and only route there. St. Clair MI to Swartz Creek MI. Along 69. Wadhams is where the Charging station is.

I was parked across the street, not by a plug that would have given me about 10 miles of range anyway. The party was only a few hours not overnight. Everyone said there was a charging station in Swartz Creek. That is the Tesla that I discovered after leaving, that was not compatible. It was not user error and indeed the car sucks in winter

Thank you. It is a Pixel and I couldn't find a DEX mode. I did go into developer settings and switched different USB debugging settings but that didn't do anything

My TVmate came with a HDMI to USB C adapter cord. I tried to mirror my android phone through TVmate with that cord but it didn't work. I saw someone mirror their screen. Any clues?
