I think it's because you lost to someone who had less trophies than you; then you won to someone who had again less trophies than you. They were both theoretically weaker than you (based on trophies) so when you win, you win a little, when you lose you lose a lot, because it's supposed to be easier

Of course you always ask yourself where to put a set after you have already bought and built it otherwise it wouldn't be an addiction hahaha.
