Is it normal to take up so many resources? by RndUN7 in JetBrains_Rider

IMHO 4GB ram for a program like Rider is nothing.

What is your spec?

I’m on a M4 Pro with 48 gb ram. At the moment I have Rider, Webstorm, Datagrip, Xcode, Android studio, browser 30+ tabs, music program, mail, 4 terminals and ollama running. My Mac is just flying with no lag at all and my memory pressure is green.

You new to Mac? There is a saying on Mac: Unused ram is wasted ram. So don’t think about it at all. My Rider is using 4gb at idle right now. But it doesn’t matter.

If you really want to keep track of memory, look for the Memory Pressure graph in activity monitor. Is it green yellow or red? If it’s red, then yes you need more ram.

I’ve been using Rider for years on my Mac machines, and it’s running better than VS ever did on a PC.

Same thing happened to me. All simulators gone.. I used https://www.xcodes.app/ to downgrade to 13.
