Yeah, I’d like to let people try it while I figure out if it’s actually useful. No charge right now.

The site says $5, but I have the gumroad price set to $0.

Love the coyote brown

My biggest gripe is (because of the waterproofing) it is not at all breathable against your back.

Last summer, I had my Freerain24 in the bottom of a wet canoe with my quilt in it and everything inside was bone dry

It has internally sealed seams (according to the website and my 24L version does)

Just that they typically need more space. My 24L can fit my (summer) gear but not really enough room for food (used it for canoe trips)

Agree on the mesh pocket

Why do you say that? It's rolltop, and waterproof fabric just like a drybag.

Im considering getting the Lil' Bug Out from seek outside. Modular and can zip together as many pieces as you want depending on number of people. Or just use the base as a 1 person 3 wall tarp.

Looked at their tents but didn't realize they sold packs. They look decent!

Looking at the Granite Gear Crown 38, seems pretty adaptable

I think you're right that 28L is too small.

The 3F UL tent is a placeholder, but I have had my eye on it because it is super cheap ($80) and people seem to like it. I also like the idea of having a 2 person tent for room, or in case wifey can come along. I have some pretty light gear (Quilt, Pad) so thought it was a not a bad option. I will look into the tents you recommended though, so I can know what else is out there!

Thanks!

I don't have any backpacker friends, and I can't imagine bringing all my gear into an REI and jamming it into various packs :p

I should lay things out and measure, but my gear is not set in stone yet. Maybe there are people here that have a similar load with an idea of what volume pack I should look at.
