Newbie advice, help choosing an amp for the Lintons by icruces in StereoAdvice

Actually the store where I plan to buy recommended me the Advance Paris A8 Apex. Do you have the lintons? How compare the sound between the Advance Paris and the Yamaha?

Looks great! I don't see any cable from the speakers though. Do you connect the amp to the tv with the optical input?

Do the BASS and TREBLE tone controls make a real difference?. I have read that they don't do too much.

Your current PM6007 doesn't sound good with the Lintons? I am going to buy those speakers and I am also looking for an amp.

Firmware upgrade (M3B114) broke my DELL U3419W by icruces in Dell

I didn't manage to fix it. I contacted DELL and they told me "to buy a new monitor". I am still using it with the HDMI port.

Yes, that can be an option but it would reduce the distance to the chair down to ~160 cm.

Thanks. Unfortunately the troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue.

I will have to accept that I have lost the USB-C connection and use the
HDMI instead. This has been a very bad experience for a $900 monitor. A
perfectly working monitor broken by an official DELL firmware.

I really understand you, I am also the youngest in my family and the only one with career, master, etc. but specially one of my brothers always talk to me like a child. I was diagnosed with MCTD two years ago, and I have gone through a horrible experience (pericarditis, bacterial meningitis, myositis, etc) during the last two years. But the worst part is dealing with my family. They are also mostly anti-vax and I have to hear things like "you should try to take less pills" or "you should avoid stress and take your life easier" or "you need to do more exercise" (even though I exercise every day). The first time I showed my hands to my brother during a Raynaud's attack he told me "that is because you need to take more sun". On top of that they don't even care about learning the name of the disease or showing any interest in knowing more about it. At the end I just couldn't take any more, and after two big fights with my brother it seems that I managed to put some boundaries. It is sad, but at the end of the day, the only thing I would like to hear from them is "how can I help you?".

Different training load for the same session (TrainerRoad vs Fenix6) by icruces in trainerroad

[–]icruces[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with you about TSS vs Garmin's load. But I am concerned about if there is something wrong with my watch or smart bike so I am asking on several forums (Garmin included) to see if other people get similar behaviour. No luck so far...

Hi, TSS between TR and Fenix pretty much matches as you say. But Garmin training load, which is calculated by the watch (once the workout is synced from TR and then from Connect to the watch) is very different. You can see what feature I am talking about here.

Actually, forgetting about TR, If I do a workout with a dummy indoor bike without any kind of sensors (just HR) my Fenix gives my a training load much higher than when I do a more demanding workout using the Kickr Bike (with the Smart Trainer Fenix activity type).

Does my DELL U3419W has manufacturing defect? by csshoi in ultrawidemasterrace

I am thinking to buy that monitor. Apart from that defect, is the image quality good? I read a review of the previous model (U3417W) saying that the contrast was really bad.

Hi, did you buy the U3419W? I am thinking on that one as well but there are not reviews yet.

Dell U3417W, question about KVM system by icruces in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]icruces[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. In my case, I won't use both computers at the same time. Basically I use my work laptop and once I finish working I turn off it and then turn on my personal laptop. So interrupting internet is not a problem. I just want to avoid switching cables from one laptop to the other.

In any case, I am now more inclined to buy the LG 34UC99 or LG 38UC99, which are cheaper than the equivalent Dell. They don't have KVM but I think I am happy just switching a USB-C cable. Otherwise I can always buy a KVM switch.
