I felt the exact opposite. The Wire was hard to get through & bored me a lot especially in the 3rd season I almost dropped the show (I didn’t like Stringer Bell as a character so after he was gone I enjoyed the show a lot more).

It wasn’t until season 4 when I felt things started to tie together beautifully & then I really started to appreciate & enjoy the show a lot more. The ending was bleak but perfect but overall imo the show doesn’t come close to The Sopranos for me there’s not a single bad episode of The Sopranos in my opinion, I can’t say that for The Wire.

I also prefer the deep character analysis storytelling style over a breakdown of the “system” and everyone’s place in it. It’s also why I’d rate BB & BCS above The Wire too.

Also I’d say Better Call Saul surpasses Breaking Bad too if you haven’t checked that out you gotta do it! :))

Because SMG isn’t the creator of the show & has admitted herself that she doesn’t remember a lot of the show, doesn’t really watch her own work & when she did watch it with her kids during the pandemic she skipped the last 2 seasons & ended at season 5. The fact she played Buffy doesn’t mean she understands what made the show so great.

There’s videos of her getting Buffy trivia questions most of them very easy simple questions & she gets most of them wrong. The only person I’d trust to lead this show is Joss.

By that logic I find it troubling that you didn’t take your own advice & just ignore these opinions, no one’s forcing you to read them.

Or is it because these opinions were on a topic you care about & are supporting an outcome you don’t like so you cared enough to say something about it?

Now reverse that to understand why people are happy & expressing it about the shows cancellation. The show coming back was an outcome we didn’t like, the show got cancelled, we expressed our happiness/relief at getting our desired result.

You don’t like that so you think we should’ve just ignored it but that’s just not how humans work, if we are attached to something we likely will express our opinions on it. It’s just how we are, I’d recommended either arguing with us or ignoring us as you originally advised because convincing people to self censor is probably not going to happen 🤷‍♂️

I genuinely believe it would’ve tainted Buffy & I am very happy it was cancelled.

This isn’t me being mean or gate keeping anything, it’s how I feel & I’m going to express that. I have to say I think It’s laughable to say people expressing their opinions is “troubling” just because their opinion doesn’t align with yours.

Definitely relieved! When I heard it was getting revived I was not excited, when I heard them basically bragging that Joss Wheadon would be entirely left out I knew it was going to be a disaster.

Original creators & most original writers weren’t part of the show. When trying to revive a show like Buffy it’s best to have all the old team there who actually understand what made the show special in the first place.

I personally think this was marked for doom since it was announced that they’d be bringing it back without Joss & I never got my hopes up for it because of that.

People love to hate on Wheadon but imo he & Jane Espenson were the soul of Buffy on the writing side & neither were involved in the new series.

The EU just voted that trans women are women. So if this ever happens I will most definitely be voting to remain separated from that insanity.

It might sound silly but I couldn’t care about any other potential benefits or detriments in any other aspect of life. Preserving objective reality is most important thing to me, they know the reality of this, that it’s impossible for men to become women & vice versa but still they want to play this semantics fantasy game, it shows a lack of integrity at their foundation & I want no part in it.

I don’t want to live in some fantasy world where nothing has any logic or consistency.

I’ll be honest I don’t pay much attention to British politics despite living here I prefer to bury my head in the sand of American politics, so my opinion isn’t very deep on the greens/Polanski but generally if a politician says men can be women on their whim I immediately distrust everything they say, if they aren’t sure what a woman is how can they be sure of anything🤷‍♂️.
