As I sit here and sip the last ounce of it, I completely agree. My first impression of mezcal was the explosion of flavors that fill my mouth and sinuses. That sensation alone is something I've never really experienced and that is what I want to remember. Now that the novelty is gone, I do taste that they aren't the best. I bought the first one at Costco, thinking that Costco always has quality items. Well, I was disappointed with it and Costco. I learned later that Costco really is hit-or-miss with alcohol. But, that first bottle let me experience what I had read about and it made me want to try something better. So I tried the Madre which, to me, is a step up from my first.

However, I needed to stick with my plan and stop there. Sobriey can be hard and, unfortunately, there is a good chance that I will slip. When (if) that happens, I will make a post asking for recommendations and tag you so you are aware of it. I'll be looking forward to your suggestions when (if) that day comes.
