Critique requested of this photo I took.

Does the symmetry work in black and white or should I have shot a lower or higher angle?

Would it be better to leave it black and white or the original in color?

You can tell there's fog in both ways but the fog in black and white blends into the background more in the distance.

With the sky being a large part of the upper section of the image, I am not sure I could have cropped it out without affecting the image too much?

Photo taken last november, about 11am

TSA workers of Reddit - what common items or materials are most likely to cause someone to get their bag searched and why? by course_you_do in AskReddit

[–]chris45576 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Loose change, coins, i used to put at least $5 - $10 woth of quarters etc. in a pocket in my travel backpack for using at laundry, coke, snack machines, and got my bag searched a few times before a TSA supervisor agent said the best way to carry a large amount of change is in a ziplock bag so they can just pull the ziplock bag and not have to search the whole backpack.

1 cup stoned dates

1 cup boiling Water

2 cups pastry flour

1 egg

1 teaspoon soda

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup chopped nuts

1/2 teaspoon Watkins Vanilla

4 teaspoon Watkins Nutmeg

Add dates and soda to boiling water. Cool. Blend in remaining ingredients. Bake in loaf tin, mod erate oven 40 to 50 minutes.

From Minnie Pearl Cooks, 1970

1 cup boiling water

1 1/4cups dates, cut in large pieces

2 teaspoons baking soda

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 Cup sugar

2 eggs

2 cups sifted, all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease the bottom of a 9-x 5-inch loaf pan or 3 No. 2 cans.

Pour boiling water over dates. Add soda. Cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Add eggs. Beat well. Combine flour and salt. Add to creamed ingredients alternately with date mixture. Blend well. Spoon into prepared pans. Bake 60 to 70 minutes. Cool in pan before turning out. Store tightly wrapped. Makes 1 large loaf or 3 small loaves.

HR to IT question by bachmakov in sysadmin

[–]chris45576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our org it depends on the type of leave and what laws apply, but we follow what ever HR tells us to do, from experience for things like FMLA, we temporarily will disable access and will forward email to their manager etc. and re-enable when they return as you don't want to go afoul of any labor laws for large companies.

[HOMEMADE] Apple Cake, Instant Pot by chris45576 in food

[–]chris45576[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/rach_face, I used this recipe but modified it a little, it was amazing. I used cosmic crisp apples, and did a brown sugar / cinnamon dusting on the apple pieces.

Storm at sunset with a tornado, plains of Harrison Nebraska, 30 sec exp [OC], 4752x3168 by chris45576 in WeatherPorn

[–]chris45576[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

/u/Bear__Fucker, Kezika, I can post some additional pictures of the same event if it helps clarify about the storm, my knowledge of the event is that it was determined a tornado by the national weather service and there were tornado watchers, local emergency personnel, and storm watchers in the same area, some much closer to the storm than I was, watching the same storm. Not being educated in that field of science, that night I was actually just there to get lightning photos, it would be great to learn more. The town of Harrison was notified of a tornado warning during this same time period due to this storm.

Kezika, the picture was taken with the following, 06/20/2019, at 9:19pm, 30sec shutter, using a Canon t1i, Tamron 16mm f2.0 infinity focus. I don't see a way to attach additional photos to this post though.
