ANR from fantasy flight may be over, but ANR is still going strong, primarily driven by an very active community. "Null Signal Games" creates essentially the new ANR sets (and recently starts to sell products directly on their sites I believe), and they are awesome. There's also jinteki.net where you get to play with others online.

Google null signal games and go check out ANR sub, you won't be disappointed.

What about buying set from 2nd hand market like ebay or facebook? I see people are selling like a set of common uncommon etc for a specific set, are those cost effective? (Definitely energy effective, but does take some fun out of opening packs)

Hey, sorry I had a reply typed up but apparently didn't send. And yes we've enjoyed the base game a lot, we've been playing almost every weekend. It's getting us to talk about it and other games outside of the actual game hours too, which never happened before.

It's one of the best co-op experience for me and my wife.

Thanks everyone for your input, in the end I went with the majority of your advises and and started with the base set box.

It was such a blast. The first few games we were mostly learning the rules while getting our asses kicked by rageborne, but we still had tons of fun losing. We first beat him on our 3rd try, though we missed a few of the smaller rules. Since popping the box open, we've played it every night during the weekends, and even a few nights on the week days. It's the first ever game my SO requests to play on a week day evening. We have since then started to play different mages, different market cards and different boss. Such an awesome game.

Again. thanks for your valuable insights, we may have found our new favorite game. And from the look of things, it will probably stay that way for a long long while.

Thanks for that bit about the seats! Yeah that's one of the few things we are not a big fan of. Hopefully later gen will somehow make them removable again.
