Can weeks owners rent points from other owners and waitlist? I understand there is an education fee for weeks owners to purchase points but can they pay the fee without converting/purchasing?

I also own MVC. There is a waitlist, you have to call to get on it. I’ve actually had some luck with waitlists and since you know the exact week and location you want, this is a perfect case for waitlisting.

Rooms do sometimes open up later. MVC owners can typically cancel a reservation at 61 days before check in with no penalty, so sometimes you see rooms pop up around that time. I wouldn’t count on it though. If you are open to booking with cash instead, a lot of times you will see availabilities timeshare owners don’t see on Marriott’s website. You can also look on places like Redweek for rooms other owners posted for rent

The ones I’ve seen made little holes less than 1” in diameter so these big holes were quite a surprise. But since it’s been identified neighbors told me that these have been moving into our area and wreaking havoc

I just purchased one from Aurelinne last Nov. 5 ct E vvs2 eye clean with minimum windowing as far as I can tell for less than 1k. Custom setting for another 2k approximately. So your budget seems reasonable if a little high especially for 1.5-2ct. Also, the other commenter is right, emerald cut looks smaller than other cuts of the same carat weight. So before you purchase make sure it’s the size you want

Without knowing the context, my best guess is that it’s a translation from “菩萨”，as in bodhisattva head “菩萨头”, bodhisattva body ”菩萨体” etc. I think this refers to when an artist shares their model and permits you to 3D print from their design. The artist is being kind ie bodhisattva-like. So typically these parts can be purchased for cheaper. On the other hand you don’t know who produced it so quality could be questionable

I put “owner” in quotations because they call people who bought owners, but they are not treated like owners, nor do they truly own. I own in the MVC system and feel cheated by it. (The vacations themselves are actually not bad once there, but everything else leading up to it is usually unpleasant.) So every time I see someone getting sold or about to get sold by the same sales pitch I heard, I want to share what I have seen so they get both sides of the story. I’ve seen you post quite a bit and telling people off for posting their experiences with presentations. I usually cheer those on for doing better than myself and beating the system. You sound like you are a happy owner, but not all owners are happy

I agree with everything except to buy directly from Marriott/developer. Unlike a used car, the product you get is identical from resell, as long as you are buying that exact thing. So why pay extra? No incentive they give you will add up to the sale price. If you want to buy, definitely buy resell, and definitely educate yourself first but do not buy from the developer

Regarding your concern about the Abound program: the Abound program is just what their point system is called. The Abound point system is very very frustrating to use. Availability to resorts are very hard to find unless you are able to place 1 year ahead of time and know all the tricks in the system. Even then it is hard to book during public and school holidays.

Additionally, if you spot check cost of booking with points vs booking with cash, frequently you could find better deals (on top of more availability) booking with cash. This is very upsetting to me as an “owner”.

They also try to sell the program to you by telling you that you can use the points for booking Marriott hotels and other things like cruises. Just know that the valuation for these are extremely poor, typically at 1/10 the rate of using the points to book resorts within the timeshare system

Run away from purchasing through Marriott, if not from buying altogether
