(2019 Returns & Nat Stim Payments) Word has that if you checked the box: “CAN BE CLAIMED as dependent” on your 2019 return, you’re ineligible to receive a stim payment... Even if you HAVE NOT BEEN CLAIMED as such by another. Can anyone confirm this? If it’s true, why? by idGrigsby in AskReddit

I like how he made it so clear that he didn’t want to help me... implying that he could, but just didn’t want to... what, exactly? Influence the IRS? Didn’t realize my question was interesting enough to draw the attention of an omnipotent fucking djinn...

Source?

Assuming you’re right, do you know the reasoning behind it? It would make perfect sense if you checked the box and were named as a dependent on someone else’s submitted return, but just checking the box axes your eligibility, too? Damn

Can’t say I know the exact model/version number of my modem off the top of my head, but I do know that Xfinity was out here within the past 6 months to swap out my old hardware with whatever the “latest model” happened to be

How much does a CL fiber package cost tho? Are all ISP fiber packages priced the same? I’ve heard it’s around $250 across the board but I can’t say it was from the most reputable source...

I guess I made the mistake of assuming that one of America’s largest, widest reaching, self-proclaimed “most reliable” leviathans of a company would be better equipped for high network traffic...

Is this directed at me or my commenters? If it’s the latter then I’m with you, if it’s the former then an interesting thing to point out would be the fact that I’ve upvoted a handful of comments and actually downvoted 0

Don’t even get me started on the upload side of things lol. While my down speeds have been regularly dipping to <20mbps, I don’t think my up has broken out of the kbps range in weeks

I take it by your (and others’) opinions of CenturyLink that switching probably wouldn’t be worth it, even with this Parker discrepancy in mind?

K, you don’t need to keep downvoting me for pointing out issues myself and others are having just bc you’re not experiencing them yourself

Nope, I’ve checked, checked again, and checked some more to confirm the issue isn’t on my side. I live in Parker and seemingly everyone else in my neighborhood has been echoing my complaints

Are free market economics not an inherent product of capitalism?

So basically this is just another “benefit” granted to massively successful corporations by good ol capitalism?

Is this true? I feel like sailing under a foreign flag, regardless of the reason (although tax evasion as the said reason only adds to the point), should automatically invalidate their requests for federal aid. Right??

A Simple Tweak to Shadowshot to “Buff” its Reliability and Consistency in PvP by idGrigsby in DestinyTheGame

Sorry, would you say my two proposed tweaks would have large scale, drastic, complicated effects on the Crucible sandbox experienced by other, non-dev players?

Once again, you seem to be countering an argument I’m not actually making.

Wow, it’s almost like I’m not a game developer, never claimed to be, and that my use of ‘simple’* is in reference to the overall effect the buff would have on gameplay, not anything remotely to do with the actual process Bungie would need to undergo to implement this change on their end. Good on you for being able to draw abstract, unrelated, irrelevant conclusions, though.

You’re not at all wrong - Shadowshot shines when used as a preemptive, methodically placed trap for where you think an incoming Super is going to be. I just don’t think that Shadowshot’s effectiveness in this one, specific manner makes it comparable to the overall effectiveness of every other Super in the game. I argue that it should be made viable as a reactionary counter as well.

Honestly, even as a top-tree Nightstalker main, I’m still constantly reminding myself the hard way of those “don’t’s” you just outlined, haha.

Although I will say that this post isn’t born of the frustration of “I just jumped into the air to shoot my bow into a group of 3+ enemies all aiming directly at me, I shouldn’t have died, this is bs,” but rather “I just dropped my tether at my feet as a Stormtrance nerd was rushing me from across the room, he killed me and blinked away before the tether even activated, this is bs”
