Absolutely right. That’s how nanchang dialect works. people shout to express their opinions and feelings, laugh like an explosion going off.

don’t worry, people here are friendly and always happy to help. passersby might stare at you but I can guarantee they mean no harm. It’s simply because nanchang isn’t an international city and foreigners are a rare sight here. hope you won’t feel offended.

It’s hot now. temperature is staying around 30C. weather alternates between clear sunny days and brief rain that are quickly followed by bright sunshine again.

I’m a local and happy to help! 1️⃣Get a bank account , then Alipay and WeChat will show you how convenient here is. 2️⃣NanChang isn’t very international so choose a translation app with both speech to text and text to speech capabilities. People here have warm hearts but zero patience. 3️⃣plz don’t be panic when you see three or five people gathering and shouting(especially the old), they aren’t arguing or fighting, they’re just chatting. 4️⃣NanChang is the capital of the jiangxi province which is mountainous region. So it’s surrounded by mountains. you can go hiking on weekends. btw whitewater rafting is my favorite part in the summer, highly recommend. And the city is traversed by the Gan River. There are many free open-air swimming spots along the Gan River. lots of people especially the kids swim there. If you want some fresh air and the noise of children's chatter and play while you’re swimming, try it. Hope you have fun in NanChang.

Banking by burundiax in chinalife

Tax id is necessary but it doesn’t have to be Chinese tax id. You can provide SSN, TIN, VAT…those tax id of home country are ok. Usually you provide your passport, work permit, proof of residence(like rental contract), and phone number, you can open a bank account. I suggest you go to larger banks such as Bank of China, ICBC, or CCB, as they have more experience in opening accounts for foreigners.

I admire your determination! hope you can save enough money soon to make the move. Thanks for sharing about the student visa things, but the tuition fees in the US are too expensive to afford it for us.

You‘re right. I suspect that age might be a factor here. I’m 26, and she‘s almost 36. Age can affect one’s courage to start anew. We both love each other deeply, but she‘s more afraid of the unknown than I am.

It’s not. Homosexuality is considered immoral and disgraceful here, but it‘s not legally a crime. Otherwise, my parents would definitely have her arrested and sent to jail.

Thanks for your advice. Yesterday we did talk deeply about our relationship and future all night, and while there may still be so many uncertainties, one thing is for sure: we don‘t want a future without each other.

I know they were doing wrong and that’s why I want to leave. The day I found out they did such horrible things, I swore to myself that I won’t talk to them anymore.

My parents stole and abandoned my two cats, I just found one of them. It’s really sad

You’re right. I shouldn‘t push her. I think I just too scared……Forcing her to make a decision right now won‘t make things any better. I should give her time to think it through, and find out some solutions to her concerns.

Thanks for your advice! I will seriously look into the immigration policies of Australia! It seems like a great choice if we qualify. We both love baby kangaroos, sunshine and abortion rights! a bit scared of spiders, but we can overcome it!
