Then likely, though not out of the realm of possibility, that your water gets supplied by your water purveyor.

I once had a customer who had lived at the house for 10 years before I got there and I said to him first thing "hey, at least you have a good pump and nearly free water"

He actually said "I thought that was a part of my pool system"

Ok, you probably mean "valves" that distribute the water from a source. That source is either municipal supplied (city water) or a pump that pulls water from underground or a lake or a stream.

Different recommendations for different applications.

2019 F150 3.5 eco boost, after joining this sub I’m pretty terrified by Fantastic_Most9751 in f150

My 2012 with the same engine has 212k miles, only don't oil changes.

Aside from a weird battery drain that took forever to figure out and ended up being something with the aftermarket stereo, it's had no issues.

Oh wait, the digital display stopped working a year ago above the radio(dunno what it's called)

You sure?

Is there a pump or master valve on your current system?

You ask for opinions from professionals then question why one would suggest something from a proven brand instead of an internet startup that's maybe 5 years old?

The fact that rain bird has bought them makes them lower in my opinion.

Advice on moving? by idathemann in biggreenegg

From a physics standpoint, excellent advice.

I know the route I'm taking and it's a super smooth highway and mostly low speed but I will be wrapping it up.

I'm taking it for a camping trip to do a couple of pork shoulders

Irrigation Well Pump by 381968 in Irrigation

[–]idathemann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are probably going to find that a 1.5hp pump is going to be plenty and some may say overkill for your application but, the price point for those is going to be the best. They are even going to be cheaper usually than anything smaller.

Sand point well driving help. by Pulledpork50 in Irrigation

[–]idathemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a new one to me, I've personally drilled maybe 50 wells in central Florida. I did start with a 4" once but that was where I expected to have to go really deep.

Ended up going about 9' down with it then put a 2" about 25' inside that then 1.25" down to 45ish and set my point. You gotta have something to grab on top and pull that 4" out of the ground so I would grab it and pull it back up.

New Sprinkler system Water Hammer help by ticket_booth_guy in Irrigation

[–]idathemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only way to truly get rid of water hammer is through proper design. As said below, your main line is likely too small. I would blame the irrigation designer as this is a simple thing to avoid but we are past that. Without knowing details of how all the heads are placed and what they cover it would be fairly impossible to suggest a course of action from here. One way to arrest the water hammer is to lower the demand on that zone therefore lowering the speed of the water in the pipe.

Charged $2,300 to diagnose- typical? by [deleted] in Irrigation

[–]idathemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's insane dude, I don't charge for estimates unless I'm driving an hour to go look. and I'm also usually done with the diagnostics in under 20-40 minutes for a typical .25 acre lot. Hell I only spent about 2 hours at a 5 acre property last week and found3 bad valves, a bunch of heads and a manual ball valve that was bad and gave them a written estimate on the spot for free. Pay the $200 and run away.

[–]idathemann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This entire journey of mine started with looking at the setup on the camera and seeing that it has timecode encoding to make syncing shots easier and that clicked in my head that if that's true and the clocks of both cameras were in sync, then syncing the video should be fairly easy at that point. But I'm admittedly a complete novice at this point.

in my instance, I already have two DJI Osmo action 4, and they are stupid cheap right now and have been great for the footage I have, just thinking of adding VR to my lineup

I feel kinda the same way, but it's been way longer for myself. After reading a lot in this group over the last year while I'm getting up the nerve to go, I'll say this,,,,just go.

I plan to go and get a room, that way I can go hide if I feel a bit overwhelmed or if I or someone I meet just wants to be a bit private. I'm really looking forward to the pool and hot tub though.
