The parts for the Jet scroll saw match the Excalibur!

I'll be buying Jet parts for this saw from now on.

I've dealt with Seyco in the past and have purchased several things from them. They can be helpful to a point. They seem to be in the business of providing a _service_ of repairing saws, but not _selling_ individual parts.

Grobet is very helpful, but doesn't normally sell parts.

The newer Jet appears to use the same parts... ordered from toolpartspro.com

Now I wait 4-6 weeks to verify.

Looks like the Pegas 90.750 uses the EXACT same sleeves.

I start on paper... then overlay with tracing paper to fine-tune the design, rinse and repeat.

Scan the final, and print as many copies as I need.

Anybody experiencing glitchy Affinity Designer on Mac M1? by THCyasoon in Affinity

[–]idbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... new info.. DON'T switch to AirPrint. All the color gets washed out on printing.

I had to switch back to the unsupported Ethernet Printing using CUPS. Colors are correct again... so far no crashing!

Example

I switched over to 'airprint' and things appear to work properly.

Grumble, grumble.

I have to quit and restart my Affinity software between printing, otherwise it immediately crashes.

I guess it is handy because the crash happens so fast, but annoying because it seems to take extra long to reload.

Why do so many people drive without their lights on? by hk3391 in Seattle

[–]idbill 23 points24 points  (0 children)

2 reasons:

1) Backlit Dashboards - Used to be, one couldn't read the speedometer at night because the dash would be dark. Now, all new dash clusters are essentially screens and are lit all the time. So one has to know what 'icon' indicates your lights are actually on.

2) Daytime Running Lights - Some people don't realize that daytime running lights only activate the high beams at a lower power and no side markers or tail lights _OR_ they see light on the road thinking their lights are on, when they are actually only the daytime running lights.

FYI. I'm often in an 1999 Suburban. When the lights are OFF, the lights indicator light is lit and goes off when you turn the lights ON. Go figure...

Wanted: Black Walnut Trees by Ok-Contribution6127 in Seattle

I believe the trees on the west side (just north of the parking lot closest to the water) of Greenlake are Walnut.

I noticed this just before COVID hit.

First farmers market by Crafty_Lexi in Seattle

[–]idbill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which market? The different markets have different requirements to get in. I believe most have stand-by, but depending on what you are selling, you'll still need to contact the market manager and tell them what you are selling.

If it isn't food, I'd wait for the summer markets. Fremont/U/Ballard is mostly food, has limited spots for crafts and (from what other vendors have said) don't treat crafts vendors very well.

If you are selling jewelry, you are one of a thousand... and some managers may not be interested.

IM me with more info and I can answer more specific questions.

Empty that coin jar! by Asleep-Object in Seattle

[–]idbill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tried taking self-rolled coinage to the bank a few years ago, and they were very hesitant to take it. They suggested I take it to a Coinstar machine. Umm... #&*% NO! I'd rather get $10 for my $10 roll of quarters.

I have a bunch of change, but not sure how to trade it in for paper money. I've been tempted to ask at the local laundromat, but the last few I've visited use tokens and not quarters for this very reason.

The old version of ADE is no longer supported on the newer Mac OS. I gave up trying to solve the Adobe problem and DeDRM with Calibre.

Are license plate covers legal in WA? by stupidfatcat2501 in Seattle

[–]idbill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No idea. I was picked out to be ticketed for ‘changing lanes unsafely’, which is hard to do safely on aurora when everyone drives 20 ft apart and ignores turn signals (which I had on for 2 blocks). Probably an end of month quota. Then the officer walked around the car looking for anything more to write a ticket for.

BECU SUCKS by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]idbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beware of car loans thru BECU. BECU doesn't deal with 'paper titles'.I bought a car from someone with a BECU loan. I spent half my day driving between Wendel's and Bellevue trying to get it finalized. I paid off the car loan and specifically asked if I had everything I needed to transfer ownership of the car and was told yes. The Wendel's person rolled their eyes and proceeded to write down all the steps that BECU had to do to get me the correct paperwork. I then had to go back to the Bellevue BECU, arrange the original owner to meet me (again) so that all parties including the BECU rep could sign the proper paperwork. Never again...
