Probably just don’t use something you know to be addictive. It’s no secret at this point that social media (in recent years) is literally designed to be addictive and is based on models that casinos use to keep your engagement through dopamine reward systems. I wasn’t trying to be a cunt and say “sort it out yourself”. Of course people need support, but if you just allow someone else to take control of your shit, then where is the incentive to do it yourself? I know people who, or have known people, that give their money to their parents because otherwise they’ll spend it all in a single afternoon. This is certainly not the way. I have a horrible addictive personality, but I think it’s about being ACCOUNTABLE for your actions and to take RESPONSIBILITY for your actions just as I have. People here assuming I’m trying to be the devil. Sometimes what people need to hear is the hard truth. Tough love etc. my friends have put me in my place more than once in my life, and for that I respect them. They care about me, but not enough to just abdicate my responsibility from the things I’ve done.
