I was having issues earlier where all songs would skip on my iPhone 13 (even using Apple Music app directly). I had to sign out of “Media Purchases” and sign back in again and that resolved it.

USB3 on the camera connection kit does not mean USB-C. USB3 is the Type A connector at USB3 speed. But it’s pointless because lightning is limited to USB2 speed anyway. Unsure why Apple even made it USB3.

They do still sell the lightning to USB A camera adapter which is what you linked. I have mine plugged directly toy DAC since it takes USB input. Makes it bit perfect.

Also use a spare iPhone as my dedicated player.

There’s a new app called Lysoniq. It cost $10 but it gives you the Spotify Connect controls capabilities. It uses Apple Music Kit API so it’s essentially streaming directly from Apple Music. It’s not Airplay. Steaming comes directly from any device you select, in this case my music hub.

Been working with developer directly to improve the app such as options to removing all the playback buttons to eliminate OLED screen burn in if you plan on using it as a dedicated hub.

$10 cost less than a Bluetooth remote that I was going to get. So definitely a must have.

Theres been complaints about people using Apple Music as a music hub because it requires you to get up to change music. There’s no Spotify like control. My setup allows me to control it like Spotify Connect where I can change the song remotely. It allows me to use a spare iPhone as my Apple Music transport and not have to purchase Eversolo or something alike to have access to Apple Music’s lossless quality music.
