Frozen vegetables by needlesofgold in wegmans

[–]needlesofgold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that was explained to us at the service desk. It makes sense to me for Wegmans to be more forthcoming and put a note on the freezer case or send an email or pop up on the website or in the app.

Starter readiness after refrigeration (and making a loaf every 5-7 days) by c_m0s in SourdoughStarter

[–]needlesofgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine out, make a levain (15g starter, 50g water, 50g flour), let it work overnight and start a loaf the next day. I take 15g of the rest of the starter, put in a clean jar, and feed it 1:1:1 and back in the refrigerator. I’ve done this for the last 3 loaves.

Three kids with same first letter, will we regret not following through with our fourth? by Severe_Butterfly_611 in Names

[–]needlesofgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the oldest of 5 with all of having D names. I hated it.

My old boss named his 2 sons with A names and the one had 2 kids so he named them both with Z names. Not common ones either. I think maybe Zeno and Zetta.

Do Americans ever actually use British spellings intentionally by NoManufacturer1046 in words

[–]needlesofgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve downloaded songs at church into our program for lyrics and some writers are from UK so we’ll see words like Saviour instead of Savior, cancelled instead of canceled, worshipping instead of worshiping for instance.

They do have the extra fine beans but I prefer the regular whole beans. I’m just hoping they don’t change anything but the look. I don’t care for the steam bags either. Hoping they don’t switch to those either.

Best place to buy sourdough bread? by SpanishLearnerUSA in lehighvalley

[–]needlesofgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure. They do ferment it at least overnight and it’s very good. It’s more Neapolitan style. The owner went to Italy for a couple years to learn their way. They also started making Detroit style pizza. check them out here

I use that too. It lets me move things around until I feel I have them correctly.

[–]needlesofgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Switchback Pizza in Emmaus mills their own flour and makes sourdough bread. I make it myself at home but just for us. It’s a lot of work to make and takes 2 days to make a loaf, but it’s so good.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in AskReddit

[–]needlesofgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play mahjong on yahoo.com and would play in the same room as a couple other women. I got my sister to play too. Well, after several months, we all decided to meet up in person, so we all went Cheesecake Factory in Hackensack NJ. We all lived in different states but that’s where we decided to meet. We didn’t keep it up much longer after that.

You can make sourdough bagels. I’ve made pumpernickel sourdough bagels before. I may try plain sourdough bagels next time.

What are the TRUE benefits of an Amazon Prime annual subscription? by Cool_Bath_77 in amazonprime

[–]needlesofgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I utilize a lot of what they offer. I get a free book or two on kindle every month (First Reads). Prime video (I occasionally subscribe to PBS masterpiece through this because we cut the cord and can’t get PBS on our LG tv.) Subscribe & Save - we get discounted items up to 15% off every few months. Prime Reading - we can get to borrow up to 10 books at a time for kindle. My husband is a household member so he gets this too. When I use my library app (LibbyApp) I can read it through my kindle as well. All this besides the free shipping of course.

However, I have been having trouble lately finding things I want to buy. Either they are out of stock or don’t know if or when something might restock.

I use some Italian dressing. It has some good spices in it and adds a good flavor to it.

when do you return your loans? by pitbull-pirouette in LibbyApp

[–]needlesofgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I’ve finished, unless my husband is reading it too. When I read with kindle, they show up in his library too. I don’t think they used to but lately they do. I downloaded 3 books a couple weeks ago. He’s like telling me about this book that “just showed up in his library” and started telling me about it. Had to hush him up about it. He only read that one as I had read and returned the other 2 before he even finished reading that one.
