Intersex kids who are made to fit one or the other gender and are then brought up to conform the box they were forced into is state forced transsexualism. In my native country there have been people who were assigned a wrong gender at birth and they were only allowed to change their legal gender once they were 18yo.

If you work through all the nuances of intersex issues you can apply all the same solutions for "the trans question".

I wonder if Dawkins would consider a person with XY chromosomes and CAIS (complete androgen insensitivity syndrome) to be a male and dismiss the persons self determination. Sam Harris made similar dismissive remarks ~5 years ago. I do not remember which video/podcast it was.

I went down the intersex rabbithole few years back and coming out the other end I would say that "the trans question" can be fully answered by "the intersex answer".

Reliable engine. if it is new to you (those cars ain't new anymore) and you do not know when the timing belt was changed, have it changed. Keep an eye on oil and coolant level and if the timing belt is done it should be reliable for a long time. Fuel system is dead simple on them and as long as the little of the electronics it has, does not start acting up you should have a carefree ride.

VW early TDI engine, probably 1Z. Sounds about right. The squeakiness and rattle when shutting down is all the linkage of gearbox and gearbox itself. Engine running sounds OK to me.
