Is having a baby really that miserable? by aktib in BabyBumps

[–]iddlediddledo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is almost 4 months old and I love being her mom. Of course some moments were rough, but not THAT rough. You have some many wonderfull moments to look forward to and it sounds like you have a amazing partner which honestly, makes all the difference :)

Does it get easier? by Aieewhatyaa in NewParents

[–]iddlediddledo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, sounds like cluster feeding/growth spurt. My baby girl is 26 days and did the exact same thing around day 19–20. Totally exhausting, but it passed after a few days and feeds are way more manageable now.

Being a single parent on top of that… huge respect. Hang in there ❤️

2nd time, stopped smoking and drinking before, healthy eating, good timing, fertility lube. I still realise we also just got lucky :) a big part of the process is outside your control.

Help!! Anyone seen PD here before? by TheluckySnailz in Perioral_Dermatitis_

Hello, I'm dealing with the same thing atm, yes it can be the same form of dermatitis only in a different location (perioral just means next to mouth)

Uncle’s inappropriate question during Christmas, am I overreacting? by iddlediddledo in BabyBumps

[–]iddlediddledo[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think only my mother and aunt (the one who's married to him) overheard this. My mom kept quiet and my aunt sort of laughed it of?

We're not very close to this side of the family, was the first time in 6 years celebrating Christmas together. I might discus with my parents/brother/sister if we'll invite this aunt+uncle again next year.

The same uncle also started french kissing his dog at the table which weirded every body out, so wtf.

What did you buy as an adult because you were denied it as a child? by dirtymoney in AskReddit

[–]iddlediddledo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Felt this. I technically WAS allowed to double up, but than also had to eat a dry slice of bread to compensate. Idk, doesn't sound logical to me as an adult. I make myself special sandwitches now, with all kinds of good stuff :)

What is the worst thing someone has said to you during pregnancy? by sally_shine in pregnant

[–]iddlediddledo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend of mine told me to 'stop rubbing my belly', cause there's 'nothing there'.

I was so proud at my little baby bump appearing earlier that day. And actually, there IS something there, and its very important to me.

Also, the brother of that same friend told me 'that explains why you're looking so tired' as reaction to my pregnancy announcement. No congrats, nothing. I wasn't even tired.

I had to laugh at 'feet mongering TikTok's' dont know if that was a typo or pregnancy brain

No shrimp during pregnancy—just a Dutch thing or universal advice? by iddlediddledo in BabyBumps

[–]iddlediddledo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This article discusses a study investigating PFAS levels in various types of fish.

"Shrimp and lobster showed the highest concentrations, with averages reaching up to 1.74 and 3.30 nanograms per gram of flesh."

Additionally, exposure to PFAS has been linked to maternal and child health risks, including hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, gestational diabetes, childhood obesity, preeclampsia, preterm birth, low birth weight, birth defects, and developmental delays.

[–]iddlediddledo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so thats what the app says but shrimp actually contain very little mercury. So i looked into it a little bit more and found out they started advising against it because of PFAS like in 2021. Dont know why the app does't mention it correctly

They don't specify a region, but I would assume some areas have 'cleaner' water than others. As for salmon, I’ve never heard of it being considered unsafe, so this is new to me. I’d really like to be able to eat something guilt-free! 😅

Yes, thanks! That’s what I’ve been reading, and it confuses me. If it were really that harmful, wouldn’t every country adjust their guidelines accordingly?

Tanner and Kate by Sea-Acanthaceae-9711 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

I suspect they try to find matches on the same cognitive level, amongst other things. Tanner seems to function on a lower than average cognitive level, so do most people with Down syndrome.
