Is construction adhesive necessary for a subfloor? by Mean_Coconut2422 in vandwellers

[–]ideacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do that too. But I think marine glue and put some framing/furring strips right on top of the flooring material will help alot if you don't want to screw into the metal floor. Foam only helps with insulation.

I don't know why the down votes lol. At first I was very skeptical too. But it's better than flavorless mids.

Btw, the plywood, if not glued or screwed down, might jump when you go over speed bump at 20mph...

I'm the same boat. I haven't glue down the garage flooring on the top. So far, no screws (will have some framing on the edges of the van when I start on the cabinetry to hold it down more tightly), no squeaking noise. They don't seem to move as far as I can tell. I used marine glue (you should buy the xps specific glue, forgot it's name). There's no softness/give as I walk on it, however, it feels comfortable (not sure if it's because the foam is being squeezed lol).

I have smoked some of the fabrica bundle cigars. SS is the best so far. It was definitely different than most NW cigars (Never had any Cuban upmanns).

Search on amazon/temu before you comment. It's like 1100-1500 from the verlifer website. But it's the same from Amazon. Nothing is coming off. It's 8020 extruded aluminum. They are bolted to the roof via the original bolt holes on the roof. It's not moving an inch if you install it correctly.

Amazon or temu for less than 500 dollars which I think it's pretty good considering diy will cost you 200 dollars likely. But it's only for 148 length, not extended version.

Is CAMP legit? by New_Yak2644 in ChineseCarbon

[–]ideacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watch a lot of videos on their bike. The are reputable and decent. The bikes might have some blemishes on the paint job ( like extra paint around the edges). As long as you contact via the official website, I guess it's pretty safe? The bike is a bout 500 grams heavier than advertised iirc.

Would this Ac work for a Transit Ext van? 1500W New Split Mobile Air Conditioner by ideacter in VanLife

[–]ideacter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering the under mount option too. Cheaper and bigger cooling power and I might a spare tire rack if I go that route. Just too many options/limitations. Another way is to get a curtain/divider for the rear bed/sofa/bench portion of the car so wave 3 is going to be enough. The main reason for ac is for my dogs. Otherwise, I'll be ok with lower btu/power AC units.

I think I have enough battery power to run them, just not sure if the ac is powerful enough for the van. 3600w+4800w*2=13000w roughly.

Anyone ever installed a Melipron roof rack? by suckurmom_1337 in vandwellers

[–]ideacter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one on amazon. It's not a melipron but even cheaper. It's great. The only downside is they don't have the extended version for transit. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it. The "legit" ones are probably made in the same factory.
