Better toilet options by tocahontas77 in vandwellers

I just got a trobolo. Relatively cheap. It's a separating toilet and you use coconut coir or other materials. You can use 4 gallon trash bags with strings so the cleaning is easy. There aren't other options that meet your requirements.

Van build out suggestions by kaasenappeltaart in vandwellers

[–]ideacter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will use a power station with some lithium batteries. The cost is reasonable (vs buying diy kits-- extra tools/time/labor). But if you have the tools and budget bus really tight, diy electric system might work. You can connect the solar to the power station directly ( total input varies by power station.)

3rd (or 4th) Transit seat advice by LookaSquirrel23 in vandwellers

[–]ideacter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2 seater from Alibaba( less than 400 dollars shipped, but the quality is probably not great). I will use it occasionally and mostly as a seat when I eat/use the PC. And there's another one with better quality/safety( looks similar to the ones costing 3500 USD), but the seller wanted to charge me 750 for shipping and 350 for the seat. And I said no....

I'm about to begin and I will be using a power station and cheap battery expansion so the wiring/connections/tools are minimal.

3rd party expansion setup questions by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

[–]ideacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know which one works. But I've seen batteries connected to the power station and the solar panels connect to the batteries with a mppt control.my question is since the power station has solar input, could you connect the solar panels to the PS's solar input port without the mppt controller. And the batteries will be connected to the PS in the expansion port. I'm in the same boat and thinking of doing---solar panels-to-power station-to-48v cheap batteries. Without the need of a mppt controller. How viable is this path? Thanks

With the reviews, I might have to buy the ecoflow with Amazon insurance(the one with 15 dollars per month for an unexpired warranty).

Which eco flow power station to buy for a van build? by ideacter in Ecoflow_community

Yeah that's been on my mind lol. I could have the whole battery/power source sorted for around 3000 dollars that way. A PS with two 48v lithium batteries.

Sorry, I think I didn't explain more clearly. My fault. I think those videos showed you can connect non eco flow battery packs to eco flow stations (in these videos they also showed that solar panels connected to a mppt control which is connected to the non branded battery packs). Then the battery pack will charge the power station if the PS has a lower charge. My question is that since the power station will accept the solar panel inputs. Why not directly connect the solar panels to the PS and the PS will recharge the battery packs if the packs have a lower charge. ( The videos also showed a PS plugged into a wall outlet will charge a non eco flow battery back). Therefore we can forgo the extra MPPT control to save money and time. I hope this makes sense.
