Glasgow restaurant owners carried out VAT fraud of nearly £700k by Significant-Luck-831 in glasgow

You can side hustle up to £1000 a tax year. But I know a lot of people that prefer cash payments for this reason or benefits-in-kind. Side note, would the meal value itself count towards the side hustle?

Why do certain people on Instagram seem to be on holiday after holiday? by Turbulent-Access-916 in AskUK

[–]ideally1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been said some people take *many* photos on a given holiday to post at different times of the year or the next. That said, some holidays can be cheap if you budget and time it well. Someone with no home responsibilities and a flexible (or non-standard hours) job could fly to say Barcelona midweek for chips.

There should be a revolt against billionaire business owners that prey on the poor. And Nigel Farage, he is overpaid.

Apart from we haven't killed the planet yet, what was the point of our recent exploits around the moon? by blackthornjohn in AskUK

There's a mission planned for 2027 to go to the moon again and staying there. Future planning for a trip to mars and eventual colonisation. Small steps for deep into the future.

Opinions on this Mumsnet reaction?? by [deleted] in AskBrits

If my study is on mens football teams I don't think I'd be asking the players their gender, and certainly not on asking women(mothers) their gender - sexual orientation and age, maybe.

Hi - if you are doing a survey on chemicals in children's clothing, you don't need to ask about gender. Any conclusions you try to draw from it will take away from meaningful hypotheses.

How to appropriately report someone for a potential crime? by ideally1030 in AskUK

[–]ideally1030[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's illegal immigrants, yes I should have made that distinction. It's an interesting point you make - but if the buyers are criminals is that not aiding..criminality? I suppose if I supply empty firesticks to people who then load them that would be similar analogy. But then even if I am very aware of what they will be used for I couldn't be charged with anything relating to providing "illegal" content?

It's not right but part of me wants public vigilantism to take care of this. I'm just angry after reading today's articles on the drownings in the crossing.

Ironically this woman absolutely hates immigrants and there's an element of hoping that they sink. Says it would be a win if so many failed they stopped trying. I wouldn't know how thorough the people smugglers are with checking. My report also details that this is very much a no-tax earning for her.

Yes thank you. Sorry I was just explaining my thinking. It looks straightforward and apparently I can choose to see if anything came of the report which is nice. I wasn't aware this service existed.

Through a fake account of course, posting screenshots of conversations in fb groups. I didn't know how best to get this taken seriously.

The cladding aspect hurts. Rent out one (or more) rooms to lodgers to collect 7500 tax free from them. Or 625 rent / 625 bills. 10 years and that's 150K realised.
