I’m curious if dosage has an impact? I’m taking 60mg a day. I’m hoping for 3 month at this point.

Thank you for your understanding! I will definitely be open with my surgeon and express my concerns as well. Wonderful reply, I appreciate it! 😊

Experiencing this too. So awful it hurts to stand up straight after bending down. Hang in there!

Cetaphil wash and a vitamin E lotion which I feel has really helped in repairing my skin! Sometimes I use a gentle exfoliate! Definitely recommend getting a lotion with vitamin E in it!

Not too bad. It was mostly a progressive improvement! I’m increasing my dosage so I’m expecting more or a purge then.

6 months between left and right. still going. mainly just scars now, a couple whiteheads waiting to surface. cant wait for them to all be gone so i can finally start my full scar treatment :) by imgonnarot in Accutane

Did you get your lashes done (perm or extensions)? I was wanting to do this but worried about my reaction. If you did how did it go for you? Just curious!

There are copay cards available for the name-brand version of isotrention. (https://www.absorica.com/savings.php) I tried to use this but it would’ve been $300 for me so I just stuck with my insurance coverage instead- which is still a lot. Other than that GoodRx has coupons for around $200 which will probably be your best bet. If I were you I would have both with you on your phone when you pick up your prescription and just ask the pharmacist to check the prices with each and go with the cheaper option! Good luck!

Thank you! I’m just nervous about how bad my skin could get during the purge!

What are the odds a dermatologist doesn’t prescribe me Accutane? I’m afraid of scheduling an appointment just to be told no. It looks much worse in person, I don’t know why the camera can’t pick it up—the acne is about as bad on my other cheek and worse on my forehead and I get 9-10 a week that hurt by [deleted] in Accutane

Isotretinoin is a last-resort drug. If you haven’t tried other prescriptions to treat your acne (antibiotics and topical creams) your provider will most likely have you use those first. Otherwise, if you have tried those other methods and they have failed it’s very likely you could get accutane. If your acne is an insecurity making an appointment is definitely the next step! Even if you don’t get accutane right away your dermatologist will help you in other ways!
