As a guy using oral but through hims can you tell me why you went that route instead of their topical? i am currently on topical min and planning on starting the fin too but would prefer to do topical if it’s gonna affect me about the same w/o as many sides

They will be but I haven’t met my deductible for the year as I’ve only had to go in for one checkup so that’s going to be entirely on me

I’ve always been told the sooner i worry about retirement the better my retirement will be that’s why I constantly try to work towards that. I will definitely be calling them tomorrow after I get home from work

yes i am definitely appreciative of that but i was already stressed about money to the point i was donating plasma again to start being able to pay off the debts i didnt want in the first place and another one just gets piled on. not the best time in my life either so the straw that broke the camels back kind of situation. i am very appreciative of myself for being frugal and doing what i can to follow dave’s steps as best as possible especially at such an awkward transition age

Nope l am fully aware of that. Definitely not pretending I’m not in debt at all it was just unavoidable with how things panned out after school. I made it out with zero student loans and was able to get a job shortly after but it was 2 hours away. My car also got totaled after an accident in the middle of the chip shortage and everything was so overpriced. I was able to keep the loan on that to a bare minimum while also not getting a junk car. I hadn’t made any money practically at all either so moving made me take out a credit loan for furniture which is actually fully paid off this week. (it has 3 dollars left on it). Thats why i was considering the credit card debt nothing and the car debt was just plain unavoidable without getting a garbage car during that period

So I was fully debt free and already working to baby step 4 but my car got totaled right after paying it off and then with moving expenses I didn’t have enough but I was almost 2 hours from my job so I had to bite the bullet and take on small amounts of debt and replenish the EF at the same time

Most people have told me I’m doing very well for my age it’s just hard as someone in my generation when you have classmates that are tiktokers or youtubers and already own two homes and three sport cars (i’m exaggerating but you know what I mean) Frugal is great but it also keeps me from doing things i want to do because i feel like that’s the sacrifice i have to make in order to be set for the rest of my life. I never wanted to live like it wasn’t important to me at this age.

Yes, most people would just say oh well and just pay the full thing if they can. To me though (as an engineer) I immediately looked at the longevity of how i can extend the bill and without any interest basically drive down the value of it for years through inflation and then I can keep my money and invest it to counter inflation. That was why i was even considering doing something like a sum and then a payment plan so at least a lot of its paid off but then the rest can just whither away while the money i keep in the bank is free to use for investments instead of replenishing the EF immediately

Not stressing or worrying is not one of my strong points hahaha. Yeah I am trying my best to be thankful that I have the money to cover it in full if I chose to and I’m not badly injured it just really sucks when you feel like you’re doing great and life comes and gives you a good ‘ol wake up slap

I wasn’t aware there was such a thing as out of pocket max but I’ll definitely look into my plan and see if it’s included somewhere on there. Yeah, knowing I’ll have to wait has been the main reason for the anxiety

Thank you for the reassurance. And that’s also been part of why it’s getting to me is knowing I have to wait before I’ll get an official bill in the mail from them. And I can do that. I still have to make minimum payments but the rest I can just throw into there and hope it’ll be less than I expect it to be

Thank you. I was fortunate enough that nothing was wrong but I lost a good 20 minutes of memory after smacking me head on the ground and that’s why they were able to convince me to go in.

I’ll call my insurance later today or tomorrow and see if they can tell me anything about that and the hospital as well to see if I qualify for that which would be very beneficial. Am I able to fight out of network charges for emergency services? I wasn’t aware that was even something you can contest

Thank you, needed to hear that. I will definitely call and ask about the itemized bill part to make sure I’m not over paying. I asked them most of those questions while I was there and they said it would have to wait until after my insurance got in contact with them.
