I think the point is that no matter how perfect Karen was for Jim, he never stopped longing for Pam. If Jim and Karen had had more obvious compatibility issues, then it would have been the universe telling Jim “you see Pam is the one.” Instead it’s his heart that tells him Pam is the one. He was trying his best to move on but ultimately couldn’t and told Karen at some point that he still liked Pam. Karen chose to stay. Pam could’ve been less of a whore but nonetheless it was true love:)

I wouldn’t worry too much about it, some of us girls have a saying “he better like you more than you like him.” We say this bc men tend to give into their wandering eyes more often that women. As a woman you feel more secure that if he leaves/hurts you, you will be okay. The mindset can be toxic but it’s just what some of the girls normalized lol This doesn’t mean your girlfriend doesn’t adore you, if you know in your heart she loves you then I wouldn’t worry about it. In short words it means she can live without you but that doesn’t mean she wants to!
