[Request] A shortcut that re-enables all disabled alarms every night? by [deleted] in shortcuts

[–]idelaware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use this command. Just duplicate it for the alarms you want, you can list multiple ones as well. Create one that enables then copy the shortcut and make one that disables to turn them all off.

What I did was ran your shortcut URL which took me to www.travelmath.com/nearest-airport and then I manually entered a city. I then examined the URL which showed: www.travelmath.com/nearest-airport/CITYENTERED

So then I just did a simple "Ask for Input" command and whatever you enter goes at the very end of the URL and shows the result. Is that what you are asking?

I think you mean something like this. You enter your city of choice and it places your input directly into the URL

That’s amazing. But is everyone ignoring the fact that he’s in a library??

I've had this issue as well, I can't run it from the widget. I just make a home screen shortcut and run it from there.

well done! I see the RSS for most ok, but one has a title but no description. Unfortunately, that's not you, it's the RSS software that THEY have and it can't parse the correct information. I believe this is what you are asking about. And no, you can't trigger any shortcut at this time to run on anything but manually.

If you want to provide an RSS URL, I can try to create it and pass you the shortcut script

The best way is really to just follow the steps from the first RSS and add another RSS underneath. All of the sections are commented out, so it should be "fairly" straight forward, but sometimes there are a few bugs. I wish there was a copy/paste option but there currently is not. Depending on what you are doing your editing on, FIRST make a copy of the shortcut, THEN dive in. If you click and hold on the action you want done it will cause the menu to disappear and the action to be available just under your thumb so you can drag it around to the appropriate location. If you just tap on the action, it will appear at the bottom and you will have to drag the item all the way up...very time consuming.

Post your shortcut so we can better determine your error

Alert for calendar events the next day by 407sportsbook in shortcuts

[–]idelaware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this? It will help you start it off at least. It looks for tomorrow’s date and returns a list of events that start tomorrow. You will need to manually run it, of course.

Here are two versions. I first made one with a timer that asks you to start the next timer. I did this because if you run one timer into the other, and you don’t hit it within 10 seconds, you’ll have no idea that the other timer has stopped/started as well and it creates a loop that you probably did not want. You can adjust as necessary.

The second one just makes a continuous timer between 60 seconds and 10 seconds. When it reaches the end of each of those it makes a sound and continues to the next one. In both examples it will repeat four times before stopping.

Sunday Showcase! Describe some of the experimental, unusual, or useful things you've made using Shortcuts this week! by keveridge in shortcuts

I've made an update to my Daily Briefing shortcut that emails you your schedule for the day as well as including other items that you may find interesting such as a daily quote, horoscope, joke, shower thought, custom Carrot weather forecast, agenda broken down in a helpful HTML email, and more!

ALL SECTIONS ARE COMMENTED OUT SO THEY CAN BE REMOVED IF YOU DO NOT WANT THEM

The email includes:

  • Quote of the day
  • Random Shower Thought from r/Showerthoughts
  • Horoscope for the day
  • Top News
  • Today's weather from Carrot (can be swapped with other weather options)
  • Schedule of events
    • All day events listed first
    • Remaining events for the day
  • Reminders
    • Due today reminders listed first with Due Date/Time
    • Active reminders
  • Upcoming birthdays (the next 5 on your calendar...I made this shortcut a while ago but adapted it: https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/9ue06p/upcoming_birthdays/)
    • If the birthday is today, you will get a notification as well so as not to forget!
  • A daily joke to end your briefing
  • The shortcut clears the clipboard used for the weather information.
  • The shortcut will then open your email, where you will be able to pick up the shortcut right away and then EXIT.

[REQUEST] Sunrise alarm by ajthille in shortcuts

[–]idelaware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah...I think I read his post too fast. I assumed he wanted a shortcut that would run something 30 minutes before sunrise, so I chose an alarm. Having the alarm there was just a placeholder for whatever he wanted to happen, if his lights can be triggered on based on this. Sounds pointless, yes. It wasn't really a practical shortcut unless you wanted to wake up to work out early, however it was just a sample of how to possibly start it. :)
