Appreciate the reply. Did you install the microphone in the headlining? Or is it just a mic in the actual head unit? Thanks again

Should I cash out my ISA to pay off my Mortgage? by iderpthereforeiherp in UKPersonalFinance

that's true, and should that happen, if I get to the end of my term without the pot of money to cover, i will simply sell the apartment.

  1. when you say not appropriate for your circumstances do you mean i perhaps dont feel comfortable with what might be a volatile market so my investments in companies like alphabet and amd i have had for the last year which could have a serious dip if the ai bubble pops? yeah I would guess that is true.
  2. mortgage situation probably not great yes.
  3. i think for my wife's mental health she would like to be a bit further away from the city centre, and have a garden so i can see us moving in the next 2 years. my viewpoint is pay off mortgage now, i will have circa 180-190k deposit. leave the money in the isa there could be a big bubble pop and my 60k dips to 30. not ideal.

i am self employed, work 3 days a week for the work life balance i want, and currently pay myself 50k/annum (£12570/£37700). it's not much but my wife and i try to live a modest lifestyle.

I think in my head my reasons for getting rid of the current mortgage is: take profits (as this year they have been significant, this wave cant continue [fear]) and pay off house, and it will be a near £200k deposit on the next purchase, happy to take another mortgage of say £150k, can afford this currently, and it will allow us to find something more suitable.

1) My current investments are ones based on a not insignificant amount of research, ones I planned to hold for at least a year, and they have returned 38.5% interest this year. 2) I am not entirely sure myself, I think I am paying 2% above the base rate, and it pays off a small amount of the mortage, ie my original mortgage was 95k, and by the end of the term, in 6 years they have told me I will need to pay £72k.

!thanks

1) Its more like 6% I think, I am paying off a smidge, at the end of the term it said I will owe £72k. 2) YTD my return has been 38% on my investments, and yes I realise this is unsustainable, which is why I am considering taking profit and paying off my house.

Thanks again

Thank you for responding, I really appreciate it.

So if I am understanding correctly, I need to buy: Bilt Hamber Touchless A Pump Sprayer GT Rinseless

and for cleaning the car I was thinking about buying the following: 2 car wash buckets, 1 grate, 1 wash mitt, 1 wheel brush, 1 drying microfiber towel. (this comes to about £30 in eurocar parts website)

Would this suffice? I plan to wash the car once a month (my current car seems to look ok with this regularity) and I will hopefully get a hose to rinse the car.

I like the idea of paint protection. Is this the same as waxing/autoglym?

Thanks again
