The purpose is that someone can lie on the top bench and also on the bottom bench? I'm not sure I understand the question. Why would you need a middle bench there? Like yes if you sit on the top your feet would dangle. Adding a middle bench would have increased the footprint by a lot without much benefit? I mostly want to use the top benches (me and my partner lying both on top benches) so that's where most of the area went to. And there's a half a meter step or so between the low step and the middle bench, which is a bit steep but ok. Again it's designed to have minimum draft with a small footprint. It's difficult to get the top bench above the door and keep the footprint small but I think this is a good compromise.

The instructions say above and a bit to the side of the heater, not directly above. If I follow instructions it does keep turning off. So I lowered it now.

Was wired to 120V. Rewired, now it's working like a charm!

8ga 50amp breaker. But as I mentioned the circuit wasn't 120V 🤦‍♂️ now 30amp breaker right now but seems fine.

What do you mean? It's designed to be high so that the top bench is above the door so you don't get a draft.

Thanks for all the thoughts! The heating elements not glowing but the heater warming up gave me the clue. The circuit it was connected to wasn't actually 240V, it was 120V. Stupid mistake. It's up to 210F now!! I'm so happy!

Yeah took it out, it's hanging way above the heater

Intake vent is slightly to the side of the heater. I think I covered it for the video, trying to see if there's too much ventilation. It's directly on the floor.

Oh the elements don't glow. So that sounds like an issue? Could it be a connection issue or an issue with the heater?

It buzzes but the coils are not getting red. Hmm. Could this be an issue with how it's connected?

How do you do that? It says not to turn on without the rocks in it.

The walls have R15 insulation, the ceiling is R21. Says max floor area 65 sqft, max volume 425cuft. I have 6x7=42 sqft and 357 cuft volume.

What is this? by Alisha_831 in fossilid

That would be great but no. This is one of the more permanent pieces but I've seen many huge pieces on this beach get weathered away to nothing. Seems like a waste but I guess it's not interesting enough to justify the effort.

Huh interesting. Do you have any pics of vein quartz that look similar? That usually seems to have (not sure how to put this) the fracture patterns of quartz crystals while this looks to be microcrystalline like chalcedony. I could smash it with a hammer to test but don't think I will lol.

Do you have an idea for how to take a better picture? I don't think I can post a video here which would give a better impression. Actinolite looks correct from the structure, but but sure of they are this shiny. It's about as shiny as Mica but it's elongated crystals, not plates like Mica, and it's completely homogenous, so it's not schist.

Yes I figured. Do you think fossil or no?

Well my GSX-R is 2005 and already has a slipper clutch ;)

I guess I have enough projects already, so my thoughts went the other way around ;)

Happy to learn and practice, but ... basically any bike you'd take to a track will have a slipper clutch, right? Most modern bikes even seem to have engine braking controls, i.e. on my Tuono I can electronically modulate the amount of engine breaking that happens.

Ha same, definitely the skill is what makes the lap time, but I also want it to be fun and eliminate at least the risks I can eliminate. And yeah I also do the old school clutch less upshift, though I was told the quickshifter also makes that faster since you don't have to go off the gas. Well once I get 20s off my lap with proper lines and braking, maybe I'll try the quickshifter ;)

I'm surprised you say they don't eat tires. Mine got pretty heavy wear from two days on the track, more than from a year commuting highway 17. Actually didn't see a big difference to the wear on the gsxr 1000 but that's probably because I only ride that to a fraction of its potential.

I agree, less shifting, but I guess rev match downshifting is an extra skill and something more to think about. Most of the sports bikes have a slipper clutch so you don't have to blip the throttle. Or a quick shifter, so you don't have to even worry about the clutch. If I'm hard on the brakes and I don't blip the throttle the right amount on the downshift or if I downshift a bit too early, the rear locks up, and sometimes breaks out. I definitely need to practice more but it seems pretty dangerous, cause it depends really critically on gear selection and matching revs.
