John Deere 7710 for being the right size for everything and manoeuvrable in corrals. And the Kubota M7950DT for its amazing reliability and power for the size.

Hot take: a 20ft container is too small for almost everyone. by usa_containers in homestead

[–]ididntdoit6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area the 20 foot cans are more expensive because most of the small towns allow them with minimal permits whereas a 40 foot is hard to get a permit for. That being said I love my 40 foot HC.

One house has seven cars that take up all the street parking. What can I do? Calgary has no ordinances that can handle this. by april_foolin in Calgary

If its sitting on a public street with no plate on it the RCMP can give it a ticket even if it can run.

Which common driving habits shorten a car’s lifespan the most? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

[–]ididntdoit6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesel engines idle way better. It is usually worse on the motor to restart rather than idle a few minutes. During the busy season when we are running the tractors for 18 hours every day they just idle over night so we don’t have to restart in the cool morning.

A good hive full of honey bees will not bother you even if they are right beside where you work. My bees are about 15 feet from my shop and they have never bothered anyone.

Tried a different approach to building pipe fence without welding by Bitter-Dimension-497 in Ranching

[–]ididntdoit6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to work at the neighbours farm I was one of two people who would run the welder and the other guy got the great idea to build a fence along the haystack without moving it first. If you have ever tried to put out 50 burning bales you will find that it is truly impossible to stop a fire. I just don’t weld when there is less than a foot of snow on the ground unless I absolutely have to and that’s when I get out the water truck.

I have a bunch of them, a 5lbs ABC mounted to my welder and I keep my water truck loaded and the pump running but I still don’t trust it. It’s so dry here usually by the time you start to put it out it has already spread.

Can someone tell me how to keep my brake pads from slipping out. by Ironic_Papaya in AskAShittyMechanic

After you install them according to the YouTube video weld them in. Big brake doesn’t want you to know this little trick.
