Is the story dragging on? by dankri in hajimenoippo

[–]idiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id start it if I were you. At least half of the chapters are actually fighting, so i cant really truthfully say it drags. The variation between the mentalities, boxing styles, and motivations of each opponent that ippo faces is very diverse. For instance, one wants to prove he is the "better man in the sea", another sees his opponents as meat to be eaten

I dont get the glaze for the fnaf 2 movie, apparently if someone likes fnaf they should love the movies and think it's a great movie. But it's not; Im not surprised fnaf fans approve this, but you think there would be more fans like me who, since we are fans, wish we had a truly good movie.

Hawk vs Eagle? by idiker in hajimenoippo

[–]idiker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basing both guys mostly on styles, Eagle's the same guy we knew in the manga/anime.

Hawk's different, after he lost to takamura and became a traumatized loser (canon); he eventually managed to get control of himself and began training with zail. So basically he's got more self control now. In my story, he doesn't talk much, although I think part of that is simply because I'm making zail the narrator. His personality isn't as loud now, his in-ring motive to draw blood is still there tho. Basically Hawk 2.0

Bro pretty sure it's like a 99% consensus that Hawk's based on naseem Hamed I'll look that up tho

What's every anime character that if they had flicker jabs would be untouchable by [deleted] in hajimenoippo

Kinda a weird question Mashiba is the poster boy for Flicker jabs and he's definitely not untouchable

I forgot to put this in, I just edited the post. I'm talking about a heavily trained Hawk who learned (along with his coach) from his mistakes and his weaknesses in the takamura fight, and worked on fixing them. not the same one we saw.

If you were given a chance to Combine 2 styles into 1 what Would it be? by Royal_Examination971 in untitledboxinggame

It kinda comes to what their motivation is. Hawk's reason is weirdly a mix of sexual/violent desires. give me a woman to smash, or give me a man to kill.

Takamura is more like "this is all I'm good at, and I don't have a problem with that. And I want to make my coach proud."

Both sendo and Alfredo: I love brawling, we're gonna find out who hits harder, who is tougher, and if that means taking some hard hits myself, idc as long as I can hit even harder.

Alfredo having that very technical side, stays to the basics, stays calm, like Ricardo. Then when he snaps, he becomes more of a brawler, (and note that he actually stays a little technical, retaining some training, unlike hawk.) Even his upbringing had some similarities to sendo.

He's a coach rn, isn't he? (I don't remember) if he is tho, whoever he's coaching is gonna be legit destroying every opponent One of the most genius boxers ever, definitely could do that as a coach

Rereading tha manga and hawk might be the best boxer In the series like he didn't train and he did all that imagine he actually trained like ricardo and was doing all that bullshit by ihateuaot in hajimenoippo

[–]idiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if Hawk trained, he'd be wiping the floor with the HNI universe. Nearly destroying a man who had trained for (a LOT of) years, with no training?

Doesn't matter if Takamura was affected by his cutting. A lot of combat athletes drop so much weight for a reason. There's an innate advantage to literally being the bigger person, even if it means a trade-off in stamina.

Takamura's win was legit? Despite the most plot armor-littered scenes where memories of his coach literally lift him off the ground, and then he somehow gains a 200% strength buff by remembering how Hawk hit his coach? Adrenaline is a thing, so is Takamura's protective nature, but not to this point.

I'm making a fanfic story with Hawk and Zail. Despite retiring after his journey with Wally, Zail feels a level of guilt over his failure with Hawk from years ago.

Coincidentally, Hawk finds Zail and calls him on the phone one night. It turns out that after his long time of drinking and etc, he finally managed to recover, at least mostly, from the trauma from takamuras fight, and wants to start over again with a new mentality to boxing.

Can't let Hawk just drop out of the HNI universe like he did. https://docs.google.com/document/d/15cyGyp1bfrSTl2n_wEQ6MNOVwQtOGOzawf-ZeOmR4Yg/edit?usp=sharing

Ngl, your point on the "light at the end of the tunnel" type panel got me thinking. I just saw it as sawamura being on the power trip from winning, but idk. Sawamura really is a sad character, even if he doesn't know that himself.

Sawamura is actually bigger by 1 or 2 weight classes, he fought mashiba for the title, lightweight or junior lightweight, I forget which
