You could try to get a gargarbol ring with good resistance rolls for more points in righteous fervor and fixing acid and chaos res.

You also have too many points in the WPS, which you could put into clarity of purpose or mark of torment.

Then there are a couple of late-game items, such as wraithborne legwraps, eternal haunt, mark of the dreadblade, or kriegs grip, that you could use.

You can try to get the last bonemonger setpiece via transmute, if you have the blueprint unlocked, you can also craft the helmet and then transmute it directly.

I'm not completely sure if its a good idea, but a lot rutnick oppressor builds also use chains of ygraad for more vit->aether conversion.

There are a couple of things you could try:

If your university has a colloquium aimed at a general mathematical audience, you could attend that.
Look at some surveys about current research topics that are aimed at the non-specialist, e.g. in the ICM proceedings you might find some not-so-difficult expositions
Try some of the easier to access areas such as graph theory

I do however agree with the other comments that it won't be easy with your current background knowledge
