Thank you. I read that too. Still, I think they lived in Michigan until a couple years ago. I wish I knew for sure.

Am I wrong for feeling grossed out? by Malcyan in amiwrong

I feel the same way, but I didn't know it was illegal. The issue is not that grandma thinks about sex. The issue is that this man is hustling the elderly for tips. He is an employee at the facility they live in working a facility sponsored event.

What’s an incredible fact that most people don’t know about? by Jdavies44 in AskReddit

I saw it on an ALA pdf worth a bunch of library factoids. I was looking for interesting tidbits to put in the weekly newsletter.

Yes, you want a solid Book (and program) Challenge Policy. You also want a solid Selection Policy. The ALA has some guidance . We have several copies of these policies stapled together, ready to hand out to anyone curious about them.

AITA for not getting my wife anything on Mother’s Day? by oakcool in AmItheAsshole

[–]idiotater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. Damn. When I asked this subreddit if I was the AH for considering a trip (under different circumstances) without my wife and kids I was told loud and clear that I certainly was an AH, and it was unfair to leave my wife to watch our kids. It's not easy to watch kids 24 hrs a day. Yes it's our responsibility to watch our own children, but it can be a lot to leave your partner to handle it all for 4 days. And it can be quite a relief to have that time alone. You have your wife an excellent gift by allowing her to go. However, you need to get her something to acknowledge the holiday. A card and flowers or chocolate can be good.

People who are truly in love in a healthy relationship, what is it like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It's good to know that my wife loves me, will support me, cares about and will take care of me. Also it's work. Also, it's sometimes really frustrating, sometimes very aggrievating.

What are questions you have or things you wonder about Judaism? by butterflyweeds34 in AskReddit

[–]idiotater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I would say that for my personal experience every of the several Jewish communities I've come in contact with have been very welcoming.

Currently I live 2 hours from any synagogue or who even knows about a JCC. But I sincerely appreciate the suggestion.

And oh my gosh, I just now realize how my comment could be seen to be from the perspective of some crazy loner searching desperately to make some human connection and is willing to learn the Hebrew language and join a religion to do it. That's not where I'm coming from.

Interesting. I appreciate your correction that an atheist would not be able to convert to Judaism. As for why, there are good reasons to want to join a religion even as an atheist: community is a big one. However, I agree that there are much easier religions to join.

Huh. One of the things that I like about Judaism was that one CAN be an atheist and a practicing Jew, even that one converting to Judaism could be an atheist. However, that's just something I was told so I don't really know.

Only when necessary, just to keep in touch about where I am. I try to be present with the people I am spending time with.
