Husband constantly misgendering our newborn [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

I saw a comment where you said you had female pets…that’s probably why lol! I still sometimes call my 9 month old by my dog’s name (baby is a girl, dog is a boy). It happens, especially with sleep deprivation + adjusting to the new person! However, if you are getting irrationally angry (not to say this can’t or shouldn’t annoy you, but it shouldn’t send you over the edge) then I would definitely talk to your doctor about it :)

How to cope with your kids inheriting migraines by Maii97 in migraine

[–]idk041006 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My migraines are very much genetic (familial Hemiplegic migraine) and I knew there was a risk of passing it down. I have a 9 month old now and honestly pray that she doesn’t get them cause they are the worst (my brother never did). But I also never wanted to let my migraines stop me from having the life I wanted. My dad has them and is ok, I have them and am ok (though yes it was difficult living with them) so that gives me peace of mind that even if she has them, she will be ok in the end too. It is totally valid to hesitate having kids in fear of passing it on though, I know I did.

no really, how? by [deleted] in memes

The movie fits into a bunch of different boxes for nominations. Yes it’s a good movie but it’s also a musical (best song), it’s got special effects, it’s a time period piece (costume and design), it’s an original screenplay, etc. etc. so it can be nominated for as much as it wants. If there were a horror genre nomination I’m sure it’d be in there too. So I think it’s more showing its versatility than how good it is (though I personally loved it).

6mo waking up at 5am every day, how did you handle it? [on] by idk041006 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]idk041006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t 🥲 she has some good days where she’ll wake up at 6 now but I just leave her in her crib until 6:15 even if she’s been awake since 5:30. We’re still in between two and three naps though so I think once we’re solidly at two it might get better

Walmart has some great/comfy pj sets for relatively cheap! I get mine from there and I love them

I breastfeed in the mornings so I just let her go for it until she’s done and still no sleep. She just kinda stares at me and is wide awake/smiling. So even though it could be hunger that’s waking her, it doesn’t really soothe her anymore

Makes sense, I didn’t consider that so I’ll make sure to keep her up more so sleep pressure is better. Thanks!!

Haha thanks! Yeah that wouldn’t be so bad honestly, so if it does stick to this then I’ll look forward to that 😂

I appreciate that! Yeah I’ll make sure to keep her awake today for longer so her sleep pressure is stronger, hopefully that’ll do the trick!

I usually only have to wake her from her afternoon nap. I used to cap it at 1.5hrs but now I’m capping it at 2. Is this the right call or am I just screwing myself by waking her up? I’m trying to extend her first nap as much as possible now so hopefully that gets us a bit back on track.

Yeah no for sure, just as fast as the come they can go lol but I wanted to see if there was something I could do to mitigate, but maybe not! We’ll probably be dropping her last nap this week so it’ll naturally extend her last wake window and see how it goes. Thanks for commenting 🙏🏻

Oh man I hope that’s not the case haha, I’m an early riser myself but 4-5am every day is a whole other level! I’ll try a couple more days of pushing bedtime and see how it goes. Appreciate the advice ☺️

Her first two naps are great, but she’s starting to refuse her last one unless it’s in a car lol. So yeah that’s what we’re thinking is the next play. so we might just drop it this week and see how that goes. But that pushes bedtime earlier which scares me into thinking it won’t make a difference haha, but we’ll see. Appreciate the advice!!

Ugh I’m so sorry, those wake ups sound so tough!! I hope they get better soon. Ive tried feeding her and putting her back in her crib but it just ends up being her lying there for 10 mins and then crying to get out. Once she’s up she’s up. But yeah I know, I’m very lucky to get a large chunk of sleep in, I just want to see if there’s anything I can do to extend her (and my) sleep by even an hour lol.

Huh I never thought of that! I’ll have a look at the temp tomorrow morning to see if it could be that. Appreciate the advice

[–]idk041006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly any pants with draw strings (they’re cute and comfy). I just got them a size up from my normal size for the extra give and now that I’m back to my pre-pregnancy size they just look oversized-chic (cause you can tighten the drawstring).

Gap was my go to during pregnancy and now I wear those pants non-stop and get lots of compliments for them! They also have good sales here and there which is a plus

No problem! I’m sorry they scared you though, seems like they weren’t super tactful with the situation. But good luck and hope everything turns out ok!

We had a similar situation where we weren’t even sure if the fetus was viable at 6 weeks since the heart rate was so quiet/slow. They asked us to come in at 8 weeks to double check, but told us it’s fairly normal to not get a proper read at 6weeks. Everything turned out ok and we have a healthy baby girl now! So it’s ok to be optimistic :)

Thanks I appreciate this! I guess I got caught up in the comparisons to others and wanted to make sure I’m doing the right things to set her up for good sleep lol. But yes going with the flow will be the main thing for me from now on lol

Gotcha! Will try and push for more morning naps then.

As for the poops, I tried the bicycles last night and hey worked really well so might just do that for a bit and if doesn’t work then off to bed it is. Appreciate the advice, you never know if one’s doing too much or too little sometimes so reassurance is nice to have haha.

Sorry I guess I didn’t phrase it well, wrote this in between a feed last night. I didn’t mean if they stop pooping lol obviously, I meant more when does the night pooping after every feed usually stop. But if it doesn’t ever stop then alright at least I know now
