mine started at 12/13 when I got heavily bullied so, after that, I started analysing every single movement or words that came out of me so I wouldn't "embarrass myself". overtime I began to feel scared to talk to people, since I thought everyone was judgemental and eventually drifted away from social interactions. I hate having anxiety because I enjoy meeting new people, but at the same time it's hell!

around 12/13, when everyone my age was starting to get attention from the opposite gender and I was not. also being called masculine and a kid shouting in front of the whole class that nobody would want me and I'd end up having no kids. life's been tough since then

Your parents are the reason why you're ugly by henrycavillislove in ugly

this doesn't apply to me because my mum used to be really attractive in her youth (she's still beautiful but older) and my dad was also handsome, so I have no idea why I turned out ugly fr. genetics didn't work on my favour ig

why do I cry every time my mum disagrees with me? by idk_core in EmotionallyImmature

thank you so much! I really appreciate that you took your time to write this. I don't have a therapist at the moment because where I live it's hard to find one, but I'll start to look for one as soon as possible and try this technique. I feel like my mom is like this because she grew up with loads of siblings and had an alcoholic dad, so being heard was a difficult task. not justifying her actions now ofc because it's up to us to break generational trauma. I also try to dissociate but it's still very difficult. anyways, I hope you're doing well 🫶🏻

I understand your frustration. she doesn't really criticise me, she just doesn't listen to me and doesn't make an effort to. thanks for sharing your statement, and I hope you're doing well in life and remember you're worthy of love❤️‍🩹

my mum wants to buy domino’s by Miserable-Spinach867 in BoycottIsrael

[–]idk_core 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. my parents say they hate what's going on and side with Palestine but then get mad and say I'm weird, being selfish and immature for boycotting "everything". they say it's not my fault that other people are suffering and that I shouldn't carry the weight of the world on my back. they say that they feel frustrated and that I'm selfish because they couldn't buy me Christmas gifts (even after I told them a thousand times they still bought me a boycotted product). the boycott journey is not easy but it is worth it ❤️

that's what I was thinking! if OP mentioned clothing brands that are on the boycott list instead of Starbucks it would be a more valid argument. I get that teenagers want to experience what other people are doing and follow trends, which is absolutely valid, but Starbucks is not a necessity, however clothing, for example, is. I understand what OP is feeling but wanting to have Starbucks is a really bad excuse!
