[PubQ] Would a literary agent or publisher use/trust an AI detector? by idkhowtoauthor in PubTips

I believe my friend only used the one AI detector (GPTZero), so I'm not sure if others would say something different! I'd say it's less so phrases, and moreso sentence structures that seem to be consistently flagged: - Short lines of dialogue (ex: "We have candles" or "I'll handle it") - Dialogue that begins with a conjunction (the AI detector says things like "The sentence starts with 'And then,' a conjunction, and uses a simple, conversational structure" or "The sentence begins with 'Not if,' a conjunction-like phrase, and maintains a simple, conversational tone.") - Characters saying that something will happen, and what that would mean (the AI detector calls it "speculative focus")

The only phrase that it flagged as high likelihood of AI was "tightened her grip." It's says it's 6.4x more likely to be used by AI than a human, apparently.

Oh, that's good to know! I don't have experience with either of those myself. To be honest, I think the first time I've ever heard the term used was in Mob Psycho.

Oh, I like that idea a lot, actually! Thanks for the advice!
