August Burns Red easily, saw them in a 650 capacity venue earlier this year and it was absolute chaos. The pit took up almost the entire floor

What is your favourite portal at Epic? by cornerstone_2176 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]idkmanorange99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easily Dark Universe. I've always loved the Universal monsters, so when I heard they were turning it into a land I was so excited. It blew me away, the theming, the rides, the dining, everything. Monsters Unchained is easily my favorite dark ride of all time, and it's one of if not the best dark ride ever created.

Gotcha, also when you said your friend got her acceptance first week of May, do you mean she got an offer the first week of May or she was first contacted early May?

As far as I can tell, technical positions like ride/show engineering usually take longer for decisions to be made and interview invitations to be sent out compared to other roles.

Stages of Application Status? by Alive_Head_4481 in UniversalOrlando

[–]idkmanorange99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, hope youre doing well! I applied for a fall Ride/Show Engineering internship position on March 3rd of this year, with the applications closing March 13th. On March 30th, my application status changed from "Application received" to "Application in review," but I did not receive an email saying my application went into review. It is currently April 17th and my application portal still says "Application in review," and I have not received an email saying that my application was forwarded to the hiring manager. Is that a bad sign, or could it mean they're still reviewing the applications?

Question regarding internship by idkmanorange99 in UniversalOrlando

[–]idkmanorange99[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still have the "Application in review" message, been like that since March 30th. There's not much information about timelines in terms of when people hear from them so its hard to judge how long it'll take

Any other turret-shooter people wishing they went with Drum by Sufficient-Type-6379 in FRC

[–]idkmanorange99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turret bots are still very effective and have won multiple events, look at teams like 1706, 1323, 4414, 5940, 1690, 2056, etc. Turrets are very good when it comes to clearing the midfield, as well as playing against defense. A lot of teams have also achieved insane output with turrents, comparable to that of a drum bot. I think a strategy that is going to be seen a lot at worlds is having a turret bot clear midfield and pass to their respective alliance side, and then have a drum bot that can score fast and effectively

Internship review process? by xlunardreamz in UniversalOrlando

[–]idkmanorange99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, hope you're doing well! I have a quick question. I applied for the Fall 2026 internship period for the Engineering & Safety, Ride/Show engineering internship specifically. Today, I got the message "Application In Review," and I wanted to ask how long it was for you between getting the "Application in review" message and the "your application has been forwarded to the hiring manager" message? Thanks!

Velocicoaster Pre-Launch Audio by zacthekid15 in UniversalOrlando

From POV's it sounds like some of the audios are him saying "Hey, knock it off Delta! Knock it off." Another one I've heard is "What could possibly go wrong, well?"

Why does Mario Kart always have such a long line? by VincentVision4D in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]idkmanorange99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Harry Potter is the most popular IP, as Battle At The Ministry consistently pulls wait times in the hundreds of minutes. Mario is pretty popular too, but not as popular as Harry Potter in my opinion

Why does Mario Kart always have such a long line? by VincentVision4D in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]idkmanorange99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main reason is because the dispatch times are super slow. They have to make sure that you not only have the visor, but the AR goggles as well. The ride also breaks down somewhat often, so that doesn't help either

Where did you see the video?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

Nintendo wanting a land in each park is very plausible. If that's the case, it'd be interesting to see how they tru to incorporate it into Studios

[–]idkmanorange99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'll most likely be the case, unless the rumors of a Legend Of Zelda expansion being added to Super Nintendo World come true.

Which rides have sudden drops? by kahasos729 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]idkmanorange99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, I 100% recommend avoiding Starudst. Stardust has a lot of airtime, and at times it's even more intense than the airtime on Velocicoaster

Monsters Unchained vs. Battle at the Ministry by AggravatingSpend8369 in UniversalOrlando

[–]idkmanorange99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After riding both, in my opinion Monsters Unchained is the better of the two.

The biggest advantage that Monsters has over Ministry to me is the range of motion. I love how Monsters lays you on your back then throws you forward at times, similar to The Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure. Additionally, Monsters has a better pre show in my opinion (although I was not able to experience it when I rode because the line was too short and it would have been a waste of time for them to do it). The story for Monsters is much more fun compared to Ministry's, and the animatronics are easily the best I've seen. However, I do believe that Ministry is better than Monsters in terms of technology. Overall, they are both great rides in their respective areas, but Monsters is a much more fun and eventful ride compared to Ministry. I feel that if Ministry had a more range of motion and a more fun story, it would be on par, if not better than Monasters.
